I didn’t even know that Albania had a rugby team.

57-0 is a big gap not gonna lie
Defiant-Dare1223@reddit
It's not super big. Indicative of a fairly big gap but not as big as you might imagine.
od3795486159601@reddit
It's not just unpopular, I feel like most here actively look down on the sport as being "american trash", even though american football and rugby are different sports.
vbd71@reddit
Say that in Britain and you might get beaten.
od3795486159601@reddit
It's not my opinion
GoHardLive@reddit
Meanwhile, basketball is the most popular sport in Greece
od3795486159601@reddit
The most popular sport in Greece is football. Basketball has risen in popularity the past few years but it still pales in comparison. Which is funny, because we're way better at basketball.
But yeah, if your point is that we are hypocritical, we definitely are.
RowingMonkey@reddit
Unfortunately it’s barely popular in Kosovo! There are a few teams around though and I really hope it gains some traction.
BardhyliX@reddit
Good luck convincing albanian parents to let their children play a sport as physical as rugby.
TinyAsianMachine@reddit
C'mon theres loads of Albanians in combat sports. Rugby's not as bad as boxing for sure.
BardhyliX@reddit
I do not know a SINGLE albanian who does boxing or any martial arts professionally or even as an amateur.
Just because you see a few on tv does not mean it's common.
fli-connoisseur@reddit
Not sure about your group, but in Kosovo, martial arts became very popular after 2010. I started boxing at the same time as half of my friends. When I studied in Prishtina most of my friends also did Boxing/Kickboxing/MMA/Judo.
GoodZealousideal5922@reddit
Distria Krasniqi, Majlinda Kelmendin nuk i njef ti?
BardhyliX@reddit
Personalisht po foli i nderum, plus krejt judo qe kryej ne Kosov jan te fokusum ne dy qytete.
TinyAsianMachine@reddit
Your experience is irrelevant. There's about 4-5 boxers that have some relevance. And about 3-4 in or previous in the ufc.
I follow this sport extensively and compared to Greece you have a lot of representation.
Nothing spectacular but it exists ig.
FlamesOfDespair@reddit
It's probably worse.
TinyAsianMachine@reddit
Nothing is worse than boxing for your brain lol. Every boxer has brain soup after 40.
FlamesOfDespair@reddit
I don't get why people go to the one martial art where you get bashed on the head the most. Plenty of martial arts don't allow head attacks. If you crack a bone it isn't an issue but good luck healing brain damage. There is a reason why many professional boxers are wife beaters.
Johanitsu@reddit
Is not famous , although we were in the world cup 3-4 years ago. for Rugby league
Team was 99% greeks from Australia and UK .not a bad team for for non professional standards
now team entirelly from people living in Greece should exist but dont expect much.
game above is rugby union -technically different with almost 0% presence
interesting link

I never knew Albania had a rugby team
rydolf_shabe@reddit
neither did I

American football is more popular than rugby, in Serbia. That being said, American football isn't popular at all.
afro-cigo@reddit
Not sure how popular American football is is but Rugby in Serbia has been around for around 100years and we have a national team. To be fair only small and few clubs outside of Belgrade, but thats only for rugby 15, rugby 13 is also popular and I know at least 3 clubs from Belgrade for each.
RowingMonkey@reddit
I’ve been told by a Serbian guy I played with once that rugby 7s is sorta big with Partizan and Red Star

I don’t think we have rugby team or if we have- I didn’t know. But every time I go to Bucuresti there is a “Rugby team Romania” in my hotel.
Novel_Database_8767@reddit
Best balkan team… probably! Maybe just after Croatia!
jajebivjetar@reddit
https://www.world.rugby/rankings
Romania 22, Croatia 48, Greece 122 out of 124
One_Bill_3730@reddit
The point system is not that well put together since you can play mostly friendly matches and rise really high without significant tournament performance. I mean Romania might as well drop down 10 places or go up 8 places depending on who they play friendlies with. Look how we performed at the world cup this year… it was real bad, yet we barely dropped down 1 spot.
SnooSuggestions4926@reddit
rugby played by us is probably made up by people with anger issues trying to ram people in half
Angeronus@reddit
We have Rugby in Greece? I had no idea.
Fun_Selection8699@reddit
In the Survivor reality show in Greece in like 2018 one of the contestants was a rugby coach so I guess yeah
No-Search3016@reddit
To be honest as an Albanian I had no idea Albania had a rugby team, too
New_Document_7964@reddit
Nobody plays rugby in Greece. Judging by the score, Abanian players probably played alone.
harvestt77@reddit
This is a very good one! Thanks for the laugh 😂
veezy53@reddit
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ecko9975@reddit
I think the rugby players in Croatia are just the diaspora from Australia and New Zealand
Repulsive_Work_226@reddit
what's that?
EnesAkhan@reddit
American football thing that they hardly even touch the ball with their feet but dare to call it "football" xD
XxjptxX7@reddit
Rugby isn’t related to American football at all
malevolentheadturn@reddit
It actually is, American football developed from rugby
ManVSReddit@reddit
“It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt“
Some idiots are intelligent enough not to speak - you are not one of them. Rugby is not American Football
Diligent_Tomato_147@reddit
Isn't rugby older than the American handegg sport?
XenophonSoulis@reddit
I'd be surprised if they found enough players to complete the team.
ClothesZestyclose814@reddit
we have a rugby team?
mIDDLESSS@reddit
Lol albanians playing rugby what the hell
gjethekumbulle1@reddit
Well apperantly they brought hell to the greeks so idk what u on to say :)
Fine-Ear-8103@reddit
Albanians love rugby after being introduced to it
GoodZealousideal5922@reddit
I had no idea rugby existed in Albania
blackesthole1@reddit
Who is rugby? Friend of Mordecai
EnesAkhan@reddit
none existent at all
Aggravating_Fish8359@reddit
We have a rugby team?
Smrekovasmola@reddit
Not very much. I used to play it during student years. We had two teams in Ljubljana. We both played in regional league with austrian clubs.
For me it was the best sport and i trained almost everything.
Unfortunately i then moved to other ciity and in couldnt train no more. I still miss those days.
I thin there is maybe 50 players all toghether above the age of 18.
lapraksi@reddit
I thought we had only rugby league lol

Same, but it looks like they have one and violated their neighbors.
