True story: Back when arguing with people online was still fun, I noticed a distinct pattern; all the people arguing from a certain leaning were invariable middle/upper-middle class white people. And when my friends/family members who aren't white would join in the fun, those middle-class white people wouldn't argue with them. So I hatched a theory and tested it. We created a few sock puppet accounts of various genders and ethniticies. If I said certain things about certain topics the whities would be fucking rabid. But I could say the exact same thing, word for word, from an ethnic woman's account and these fuckers would 'respectfully disagree' but thank me for my valuable and diverse viewpoints, or outright agree with everything I said. It really has nothing to do with the viewpoint, opinion, message, or even objective facts. They take offense to who is saying it.
