Do i upgrade from a Ryzen 7 5800x to Ryzen 7 5800X3D (500HZ)

So in short, soon i will be getting a 500 HZ 1440p Asus OLED monitor.
I wanted to know if I should upgrade from a Ryzen 7 5800x to Ryzen 7 5800X3D.
I will only be playing Valorant and want to maintain 500 fps, so my question is can it
main that frame rate at 1440p all low settings in game.
So the main thing is do i go for the 5800X3D because i have an AM4 board, otherwise i would have to upgrade to an AM5 mobo and get like a 9800X3D. Which is more expensive. But, is necessary if the 5800x3d cant maintain it. So please help me answer my question.

This entirely depended on:
Once you know the answers to those 3 points, it will be much easier to give you advice because cost is everything here

1) I'm getting the 5800X3D for around $350 USD (which i know is probably overpriced) But it would probably be better to buy that for me rather than an am5 mobo + faster ram + another am5 good cpu
2) RTX 3070 8GB
3) full am5 upgrade would be 600-700 $ usd (or more)
3.5) Not really planning to sell my old parts (gonna use them to build a second pc)
Basically in short, I now found out i would have to upgrade (Because i know now my current 5800x cant reach that) . I just would like to find out if the 5800x3d can reach the 500 threshold and maintain it, Or i would have to go for the full am5 upgrade.

So I think you're going to deep into the misconception that a CPU heavy game = CPU does all the work. At 1440p, you are going to be GPU limited when trying to hit 500fps in literally anything as long as you have a modern CPU. Val is easy to run, but you'd need to be playing at 1080p to *maybe* saturate 500 Hz with a 3070. You might be able to go slightly above 500 FPS with a 5800x3d, but im almost certain it will drop into the 300-400s in certain areas or fights with a lot going on.
For reference, I just booted up val and moved it to my 1440p monitor, and was getting anywhere from 500-800 FPS in the range depending on if I was standing still or spamming abilities with a 5080 and 5800x3d.

Ok, so basically the 5800x3d wouldn't really do the job by itself in an actual game. I get it now. Coming to the monitor, it is a gift which is arriving soon so i wouldnt be able to get a cheaper monitor. But, in my situation i think it would be better to go all in on am5 then as i feel thats the best course of action now (and later down the line a better gpu). Thanks for your help.

No, 5800x3d are only used, they don't sell them new anymore and the prices are high enough to save a bot more and jump to am5, 2 month earlier you were gonna find 5700x3d new but it got discontinued and they are second hand only too, so no reason to do this upgrade imo

I did find a tray one for considerably cheaper, But I still can't reach a conclusion.

just find a youtube video with your CPU and GPU combination and see what other people got. Then you can make your decision.

Yeah I tried to find one for 5800x3d , 3070 valorant.. 1440p, But couldnt find anything. However, i did find one for 1080p.. and he was getting around 600 in deathmatch. So i'm wondering if that much of a increases is really possible from the upgrade and i if i should go ahead and take the gamble and see how much of that 600 i get with 1440p

Turn off vsync and any other frame limitter in or out of game. Turn on any FPS counter. See how many FPS you are getting now with 5800x.

Now, all low graphics in-game i average about 320-400 depending on the gamemode. I'm just wondering if the 5800x3d would reach the 500 threshold.

U forgot to list your gpu.

An rtx 3070 , sorry for not mentioning, its just that val is highly cpu reliant game so it didnt cross my mind
Naerven@reddit
I would say no as the r7-5800x3d has been out of production for a couple of years and is wildly overpriced.
