Those of us from the countryside, would you tend to say your county when asked where you’re from, in place of where others would say their city?

Got asked where I’m from earlier by a chap from Newcastle, being that the nearest city to where I grew up is 90 mins away I said Dorset, as I have always done when asked such a question. I’m from Dorchester. I’m curious do those of you who also are from the countryside tend to say your county or some other wider area when asked? Whereas someone from a city would say their city
