Pork Blood In Container
Posted by robreinerstillmydad@reddit | shittyfoodporn | View on Reddit | 163 comments
I know that different cultures use pork blood and that’s fine; the part that made me laugh was “in container”. As opposed to just loose blood?? Is there an option where I just cup my hands and they put some in there??
ArtieLangesLiver@reddit
Is that kosher?
damagecontrolparty@reddit
This is the most unkosher thing possible
DropsyMumji@reddit
Literally the opposite
thatirishdave@reddit
hammerto3@reddit
They shoulda put one of those meat diapers in there to keep it from sloshing around, then when you get home you just wring out your blood for dinner
DropsyMumji@reddit
That's just a blood dumpling with fewer steps
Uchihagod53@reddit

I never watched twilight (?). Why is there a strong gust inside the building? Why are they reacting like that?
Uchihagod53@reddit
It's been years since I've watched it but I think Bella walks in and a fan blows her scent on Edward
Katomon-EIN-@reddit
Wtf? Will never understand anything pertaining to twilight
34786t234890@reddit
Because you haven't seen the movie or read the books? That's pretty normal for any media, isn't it?
Katomon-EIN-@reddit
Meaning it's just not my demographic. I like vampires because I like horror genre, but Twilight is way too dramatic for my taste.
Sea_Seaworthiness_70@reddit
He reacts like that because he’s trying not to lose his shit and drink her blood lmao
This scene is hilarious out-of-context
jennerator88@reddit
I believe it's supposed to show how delicious and wonderful she smells but the dude's reaction makes it look like she let out a huge fart right next to him.
Bravisimo@reddit
BWTHHYBL?
odiin1731@reddit
Kristen Stewart's farts are fucking RANCID. You will legit gag if you ever have the displeasure of being subjected to one.
earfeater13@reddit
WeOutHereInSmallbany@reddit
Were they psychos?
Bravisimo@reddit
Psychos? Psychos dont explode in sunlight, i dont care how fucking crazy they are!
LordTerrence@reddit
Bahaha this is perfect.
weirdoldhobo1978@reddit
Is drinking animal blood the vampire version of eating a veggie burger?
MZsince93@reddit
I cackled.
Hot-Refrigerator6583@reddit
No, that kind of package never leaks. What could possiblye go wrong?
ThePizzaNoid@reddit
Huh. that's the first thing that's ever gone wrong.
cityshepherd@reddit
This reference will always make me smile
AnotherIronicPenguin@reddit
Remember, we parked in the "Itchy" lot.
CuratedAcceptance@reddit
For what it's worth it's usually coagulated and kind of a gross jello consistency.
AreYouAllFrogs@reddit
I bought a bunch of chicken hearts in that kind of packaging for a halloween stew and it leaked really badly.
Sun-Much@reddit
Halloween Stew with chicken hearts, please post the recipe or a link!
AreYouAllFrogs@reddit
I followed Max Miller’s historical recipe for chicken paprikash
And substituted a couple pounds of chicken hearts for some of the dark meat. The drumsticks turned out really well, but the chicken hearts came out very…chickeny. Maybe marinating them or blanching them beforehand would’ve helped.
Though typically, I do a taiwanese-style braise for chicken hearts. The braising liquid in this recipe is similar to what I do.
GeckoCowboy@reddit
It’s still going to leak, somehow. I just know it…

Satanic worshipers can't afford goats blood in this economy so the grocery store is offering them this alternative
Now you can worship Satan at the low price of $3.49!
Jeramy_Jones@reddit
unicorntrees@reddit
It could be cooked into a block of "blood tofu" so spilling might not be as catastrophic as it could be.
Elegant_Broccoli_801@reddit
That’s future gravy there, retain and enjoy!
QweenSasha@reddit
I’m excited to see a fellow Wisconsinite in here! I love the new store, I’m glad i haven’t seen that yet tho. lol
uncleozzy@reddit
It’s hard to tell how much pork blood is in there but I feel like I’d expect more for $3.49.
But yeah that container is an unhinged choice.
robreinerstillmydad@reddit (OP)
Inflation even affecting pork blood prices, crazy
siccoblue@reddit
Can't have you undercutting them catfish bait
RockyMullet@reddit
I'd expect this kind of price from blood pudding, but that's just... straight up blood.
GeckoCowboy@reddit
Ive never bought blood before, but now I am wondering about blood prices…
TheGoldenCowTV@reddit
Couldn't find pork blood (online) where I live, but beef blood costs £4,8/litre, and reindeer £15,68/litre
not_ElonMusk1@reddit
Wtf did they do to Rudolph?!
NiobiumThorn@reddit
his red nose was due to excessive blood. Some leaches and a visit with the poker fixed him right up!
not_ElonMusk1@reddit
Sometimes a certain part of my body fills with excess blood…. Please don’t use leeches or a poker on that!
NiobiumThorn@reddit
Idk I'm sure you have enough. Only one way to find out!
not_ElonMusk1@reddit
I did not expect to be offered a leech blowjob today 😂
Maynrds@reddit
5 bucks a pint. Don't ask where im getting it.
princetonwu@reddit
it's about the size of a standard TOFU package.
BittaminMusic@reddit
I’m kinda wondering if there WERE vampires would this be a method for them to sustain?
ChefAsstastic@reddit
Sometimes people use it to make bondin blanc or summer sausages.
Trololman72@reddit
Boudin blanc is just pork meat and flour or bread, no blood to be seen.
notabigmelvillecrowd@reddit
Boudin noir? Pretty hard to make white sausages with blood. But also, you need liquid blood for that, basically have to get it direct from a farmer.
Traditional_Virus355@reddit
How do you prepare/eat it?
SalamanderFickle9549@reddit
We cook it in soup, like tofu,I personally don't eat blood but it's common ingredient here especially in hot pots
SetComprehensive1547@reddit
please tell me genuinely what are you eating blood for?
SalamanderFickle9549@reddit
Idk, nutrients? European eat blood sausage too, nothing too uncommon, people in the past couldn't afford to waste nutrition dense animal parts, and the food last to become a part of the diet
straw_barry@reddit
It needs to be cooked and the preferred method is to simmer it in water. Too hot and overcooked and it will be powdery have a lot of holes when you cut into it. You want it solid but a little soft.
The flavor profile is actually pretty mild. We like it in noodle soups but typically there are specific dishes where you wanna put a couple of cubes in. It’s mild but still has a distinct irony flavor so doesn’t go with just any dishes.
Phoenixf1zzle@reddit
Sometimes its an extra ingredient. If you make your own blood sausage/black pudding, blood is a big part
TheGoldenCowTV@reddit
Would absolutely recommend trying swedish blood pudding (do add the cloves and allspice) might be nostalgia but I think it's better than Scottish black pudding and represents traditional Swedish food very well
im_plotting_to_kill@reddit
my family has sometimes prepared it in soup in little cubes. they like it, but i just don't like the texture.
outofmelatonin92@reddit
In a soup or grilled. Its already coagulated.
Blackraven2007@reddit
Eh, I prefer to buy it without the container. I just carry it home in my hands.
Adorable-Woman@reddit
Pork’s blood is absolutely delectable though I’m a vegetarian now
GeckoCowboy@reddit
How did you eat it before? I mean, in what kinds of recipes or foods?
Trololman72@reddit
Black pudding, for example.
Amneiger@reddit
I'm not the person you were directing this question to, but I've eaten this before. Pork blood like this is sold coagulated - You can see the block in the plastic. The texture is like jello or soft tofu that holds together better, and the taste is savory and is on the richer side. In my experience you slice it up and add it to soups or rice porridge. The Wikipedia article has a little more detail: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pig_blood_curd. I like it, but I also like organ meats, so your mileage may vary.
TintaRoriz@reddit
I have two weaknesses for pork blood Bún Bò Hue ( vietnamese beef and pork noodle soup) and British black pudding
Beef_Jones@reddit
A straw
rightoff303@reddit
99% of meat and animal products sold at your grocery store comes from factory farms
The humane, pasture, organic labels? All factory farms. Disgusting and evil. Preying on migrants and poor communities, causing amputations and PTSD, as well as serving as pitri dishes for the next Covid.

Dinuguan gang
goingtopeaces@reddit
My Filipino friend made me some recently and it's SO good.
GullibleBeautiful@reddit
I’m sure it’s amazing but man, I just cannot get past it being blood. I know there’s blood in a lot of American/western foods but the less I know, the better 😭
ResponsibilityFew938@reddit
Just adds richness and a slight metallic tang. It may not be so much necessary in the American markets and food availability… But as a lifelong chef, personally I find beauty in complete utilization. It also shows respect for what has been harvested and those who we are trying to sustain. The ultimate goal to remedy and increasingly so in today’s environment: food waste — it is the worst thing.
ResponsibilityFew938@reddit
I’m the whitest thing there is and dinuguan was my first Filipino dish ever. Perma hooked.
Psychological-Bee702@reddit
All read for Watain to come to town and play a show!

yellowbill711@reddit
Not really blood..but ok
Hoiuytrn@reddit
I drink haram for breakfast.
Satorius96@reddit

Consider2SidesPeace@reddit
Tell that to someone from the Philippines :) I've had pork blood many a time with their food.

I love Pan-Asia.
robreinerstillmydad@reddit (OP)
It’s an awesome store!
Middle-Crew-2296@reddit
It's actually not liquid and more like a liver texture because science that I cannot explain the blood just gets solidify. Cut in to cubes sautee it with some onions and garlic, throw some oregano salt and pepper and it's super yummy
itzSteee@reddit
I buy mine in deli containers. I’ve never seen it in this packaging lol. Maybe cutting cost on the plastic containers or possibly just ran out
depressedturohost@reddit
Thats cheaper than the one I just bought for dinner.
howchildish@reddit
I've legit never seen them packaged like this. Usually, even when solid like in your pic, I'd see them in one of those plastic take-out containers for soup.
MalodorousNutsack@reddit
Yeah, how am I supposed to drink from this thing?
frag_enabler@reddit
Stab a straw thru the top like a juice box
ChiefRedChild@reddit
Stab from bottom and shotgun it like a beer
JordySkateboardy808@reddit
It looks more like a blood clot to me, so you treat it like a jello shot.
LoosieLawless@reddit
SCLORP! Just slice the edge and slide the whole thing down your gullet in one schloop.
JordySkateboardy808@reddit
Think "really big oyster". Mmmm.
LoosieLawless@reddit
A really big oyster sounds perfect right now. A little sherry vinegar and shallot? Fuck me up, fam.

weirdoldhobo1978@reddit
Yeah the blood is not the weird part of this picture
chukroast2837@reddit
Stanek___@reddit
This is making my mouth water 🤤
oRemzi@reddit
wonder how it gets shipped
ArghNooo@reddit
Normally this is sold in plastic tubs, not shrink wrapped styrofoam.
At least it's "in containers," which is considerably more convenient than say, "still pulsing through the veins of a living pig" or "soaked in mummification rags and entombed in a sarcophagus."
rasta_pineapple2@reddit
They should sell it in absorbent pads that you have to wring out.
TapProfessional5146@reddit
Why that kind of container? I would put it in a plastic container.
OreoSpeedwaggon@reddit
BitGamerX@reddit
theBigWhiteDude@reddit
3.49, they know what they've got! Not gonna find cheaper pork blood this side of where we are.
Wolf_Doggie@reddit
Looks overpriced. Should at least be 64 fl oz. Demand more blood.
OrionQuest7@reddit
I’m shocked that’s legal
notabigmelvillecrowd@reddit
Why?
GoodNameBadHabit@reddit
This is myoglobin, not blood.
notabigmelvillecrowd@reddit
No, it's blood.
NYmam@reddit
Literally why did they choice that packaging for it?
SocialMediaTheVirus@reddit
And you can slurp it up for only $3.49 now that's what I call a deal
ThinkAboutItMyGuy@reddit
Is this a grocery store for vampires
kaos-mantra@reddit
Vamps gotta eat.
Voodoocookie@reddit
Sanguinaccio dolce is a sweet chocolate pudding made with pork blood.
Federal-Effort4370@reddit
Look up the macros, 18g protein per 100g fluid. its actually pretty insane and i considered drinking a glass of it a day or mixing with a protein shake while bulking, but never got around to it.
unicorntrees@reddit
And high in iron! It's basically like tofu when it's coagulated like this.
that_random_rat@reddit
I'm a cashier, if I see that at my register and it pops I'm walking out
Enough_Fish739@reddit
I have only ever seen blood sold in buckets. Also it's fucking imposible to find pig blood here in Sweden, people apperantly use it to train their hunting dogs, which is illegal.
Frothynibbler@reddit
Just a pocket full of pig blood and nowhere to go 😔
CakeHunterXXX@reddit
Looks like coagulated pork blood, though in a very bad container
ElectricalTwist4083@reddit
Put it one of those clear plastic Togo soup containers ffs.

Quick_Philosophy1426@reddit
why in gods name would they package it like this, this is a total fucking nightmare waiting to happen. there's no way the styrofoam and plastic wrap is that much more expensive than a cheap deli container
dbxp@reddit
Seems expensive considering it's otherwise a waste project

It reminds me of when Beavis and Butthead went to buy gas and the sales person was like, " what are you going to put it in?" And Butthead's like, "can you like, uhhh, put it in a cup or something?"
