Nostalgia

Somehow though 8 moves in my adulthood I've kept a handful of special items from my youth.
The chokehold this NO! sweater had on me in junior high. I wore it with pegged Girbaud jeans, a white mock turtleneck, and docksider boat shoes with spiral laces. I told my husband to bury me in it. And let's be honest, it probably belongs underground anyways.
The keys are from my first car, a 1984 Ford escort. Her name was Goldie. I loved that first taste of freedom. Driving in my own car, picking my own music (Pearl Jam), windows down(crank style) without any cares in the world.
My combination lock, 26-15-34. I can't remember my passwords half the time now.
The flip side cassette game that endured so many road trips, the pieces are missing.
I'm really surprised the MJ picture disc is still in it's sleeve and hasn't melted from so many years in the attic.
I'd love to know what you've carried with you through the years. These items are truly priceless to me.

The pink doll was my Lolly. I still have her. She never left my side when I was little.

Fisher price. She originally had button eyes. Our dog at the time chewed them off and my Memere (grandmother) replaced them with handsewn eyes. That made her so much more special ❤️

I just remember flopping the arms back and forth 😅

Is that the lock to your high school locker?

I called mine lolly dolly, don’t know if that was her official name but I loved mine!

Dang, FlipSiders, I remember those. Haven't thought about them in many many years.

My favorite thing I’ve kept is my books, which I read with my kids. They all have my name and the year in old people quotation marks from my Grammy.

They’ve been through it though lol.

Hell yeah Thriller. I also still have my Fischer Price Lolly Dolly. I don't really have much from my childhood, just a few stuffed toys.

I used to have the blue version of that doll. My sister had the pink one.

I had a handful of things I managed to hang on to, but have lost somehow. I still have an original Han Solo action figure. I had a Voltron blanket, but at some point I lost it or gave it away but regretted it and my wife found one on eBay for me. I had my old childhood teddy bear but one of my girls took it and now it's gone as well. That will never be replaced.
