i have a small bottle sitting on my dresser. i don't really wear it but enjoy the memories the scent evokes. i've also got bottles of Happy, Sun Moon Stars, and Love's Baby Soft that are still in regular rotation.
I still have a Curve gift set my sister bought me in about 1998. Came with cologne, aftershave and a little round stick of deodorant. I use it for special occasions. Yea, they all still work and all still smell good.
I think if you are single in your late 40s, looking for someone your own age, start using late 90s fragrance. People will not even realize why they are searching you out from across the room.
My freshman year of college they have us care packages with gum, toiletries, and tester bottles of Cool Water. You could always tell when a party or major event was happening on campus, because the entire dorm would smell like Cool Water.
So my MIL bought my husband a Curve gift set from either a Ross/TJ Maxx/Marshall/whatever. She has no knowledge of his likes and dislikes - she doesn’t have dementia; she just doesn’t care - but she did remember that he once wore Curve in the 90s
So because we didn’t want it just hanging around the house, we put it on eBay. Someone bought it; I shipped it. End of story? No. I got a scathing email from the buyer about he knew what Curve smelled like. A Curve expert? And that was not Curve, and I had ripped him off. He was going to report me to eBay and get me banned.
Everything was still sealed from the store so there was no switcheroo. I gave him his money back so he’d go away. But, man, was that guy obsessed with Curve hahahaha
Ooh yes Curve, CK one, and Happy. I recently found a new scent reminiscent of Happy, been wearing it everyday to remind myself I wasn't always full of existential despair
My friends and I ran a test in high school to figure out which cologne covered up the smell of alcohol and cigarettes on us the best. Curve was the winner.

Ah man, Curve takes me back. Apparently it does for the ladies too.
It’s like how walking into the lotion section of a Bath & Body Works smells just like an awkward teenage HJ.
