Johnny sounds great. Band is tight. Why does he look like a final fantasy character?!

Elective cosmetic surgery should be outlawed, or at least highly regulated.

Sorry if you were just being lighthearted, but I think we already go way overboard trying to protect people from themselves. It also makes it harder for those with "legitimate" reasons to prove their worthiness for that care. Whatever work Johnny's had done clearly hasn't impeded him from doing what he does best.

I mean, yeah, my keyword here was "elective," to indicate it was exclusively referencing cases where the surgery wasn't necessary in any medical sense. IE, it's not correcting a malady, or managing side effects, or easing a disability, etc.
Much like chiropracty, the ratio of "actual care" versus "outright quackery" is terrifying.

I understand where you're coming from, but the devil is always in the details with that kind of regulation. How bad off does someone have to be before it crosses the line between elective and essential? Health insurance companies already make those kinds of decisions for those who can't afford pay out of pocket, and lawmakers already impose their personal beliefs on services that intersect with certain political wedge issues. Unless those providers are endangering their patients' lives, I'm gonna have to say no thanks to more regulation. If that means a few people come out looking grotesque to the average observer, oh well.
