I love it
Kawa11Turtle@reddit
Well, it has a chocolate drizzle
OkiDokiPanic@reddit
Your biggest mistake was to not let the cake chill completely before putting the frosting on.

I'm impatient...

it was for a friend though....

I bought her a cake for her birthday celebration before this! This was kinda like my attempt at a more flavorful cake with things she'd enjoy!! she watched me make it and stuff, she's aware I'm not the best at baking
FliPsk8guY@reddit
Eh...sounds like you guys had fun. As long as it tasted good I think this is a win.
Hate_Having_Needs@reddit
Not being the best is different than half-assing it lmao. It sounds as if you knew you should have let it cool, but didn't want to wait. Which is really silly. What was the hurry?
eipKitty@reddit
You sound like you’re scolding OP for making a cake for their friend. Who the hell cares that they didn’t let it cool?
My mom has made my dad a German chocolate cake many times, for his birthdays over the years. Not a single one I’ve ever seen looked good, and those are the ones that stayed standing after cooking. My Dad has never minded- it’s the thought of someone making you a tasty cake that matters, not the finesse of their cooking ability.
Go get some friends worth making a bad cake for.
DezPispenser@reddit
yeah he just doesn't have friends lol
FliPsk8guY@reddit
And also to drizzle it over a rack so it doesn't pool up like that around the sides.

My wife says it still looks good to eat
Important-Vast-9345@reddit
I'm not saying there aren't flaws, but I don't think it fits in this sub. It still looks too appealing. You are a good friend.
GroundbreakingWay876@reddit (OP)
Honestly it did not look appealing to me at all when I made it it kinda looked like a mess to me that's why I put it on this subreddit
DezPispenser@reddit
i've found that the biggest critics in cooking/baking are the ones who make the food. and this is important because it will allow you to improve and grow and learn from mistakes you make. but just remember not to be too hard on yourself, it's all a lot of trial and error in the end. as long as you enjoyed it and learned from it, it's a major win.

I would eat the cake you made, but why didn't you made the lavender cake?
Badbitchery@reddit
It is lavender, look closely and you will see the purple lavender color. Unfortunately it didn’t stay that way after baking
-perspicacious_@reddit
No. It’s lavander
Soft_Chipmunk_8051@reddit
Who's Lavander?

pmoity@reddit
I would eat that magnificent looking bastard in two bites
honeyandwhiskey@reddit
This looks like it would be so good warmed up with a scoop of ice cream.
Heauxdessa@reddit
That’s a good start! Looks like your cake was too hot before you started frosting or you used that crap in a plastic tub, the chocolate sich is wild.
Over all if still eat it, like a lot of it lol

e_lizz@reddit
idgaf I would eat that so fast.
