Sopapillas. There was a Mexican place that we used to get them all the time as a kid that served them with powdered sugar and a rum-butter sauce. Looks grotesque, but tastes delicious.

Growing up we called em sopapillas even though they're technically not. A lot of mexican restaurants I've been to also have "sopapillas" just like this with ice cream on the menu.
