Does it really take 1 hour to get the tube from Waterloo to Euston?

Getting train up to Glasgow from Guildford and Trainline says with my multi ticket that it’ll take ‘1 hour 8mins’ to get tube from Waterloo to Euston. Last time I did it took like 20mins! Is this because of strike action or are they estimating the distance in miles? Anyone done that trip today?

You can walk it in less than an hour according to Google Maps. Probably 30mins if you get a good wiggle on!

No, it doesn't. It's a 20 minute journey. You can't tie a ticket to a specific Tube journey, like you can on the mainline. It's saying "you have this amount of time to make this transfer between these two stations". You might miss the first possible train, because you got lost or walk slower than average. You might choose to get food at Euston. You might decide to take a detour to visit a specific shop or place. Also, the trainline sucks.

!Answered. Thanks for the answer. Trainline is shite I agree, but it’s easier to screenshot the itinerary and times for work etc. I’ll probably get tube and lunch before Euston, I don’t trust the culinary delights of Avanti.
