Thank you for the fun suggestions and I will try again with health store fresh chia seeds.

I feel like i'm obligated to try a chia pet once before I die.

Did you soak the frog first?
jackofallsomething1@reddit (OP)
I did but next round according to the original paperwork I need to bleach soak first? And this thing had bin in a box for a long time
nuskit@reddit
Were the seeds in the box with it? Seeds over a year old rarely have good germination results.

This is the secret!!!

I received the Yoda one as a gag gift a few years ago and I had a really hard time getting the seeds to stick to it.

Thank you for the follow-up. I'm deeply invested in this.

Also can’t not think of Wayne’s World when the commercial plays at the beginning as they’re switching channels.

Chia pet! The pottery that grows!
MisRandomness@reddit
I don’t think I’ve ever once heard of someone successfully growing a chia pet

My wife and I have a Homer backing into the bushes and a Sophia from Golden Girls going right now. Three days and nothing so far. This is our second attempt with Sophia. We've never been able to get them to grow.

Let’s keep trying damn it!!!

I will try again!

I couldn’t ever get them right

I have had it work and been comical in spout growth but both it and the seeds are really old. Brought back fun memories. Ehh instructions have how to clean it and try again. Probably will

Buy fresh chia seeds at your local supermarket. They'll definitely sprout.

I love that you are keeping us updated even if it wasn't successful on round one... Looking forward to seeing ch-ch-ch-chia frog one of these days!

I wanted one of these things so badly as a kid. That jingle got me!

Looks too dry! Get the seeds jelly. Get the pottery wet. Keep everything ~~moist~~ damp.

Chia is soo good for you. Makes a great pumpkin pudding.
