There is at least one stretch of highway in Montana that has these little white crosses on the side of the road, sometimes multiple in the same spot. I think it should be implemented everywhere.

They are all over Montana. I've visited there and it's certainly a good reminder to be careful while driving. According to Google, the American Legion puts up the crosses. They started in 1952 and there are more than 2500 of them now.

My family was watching funny videos on YouTube a week ago, and my dad played a compilation video of trucks driving under the bridge. My 6yo kept encouraging the trucks to go through and getting disappointed when they didn't make it. She didn't seem to get that the entire video was of trucks not making it under the bridge.

Hey, i remember. We had something like that "black points" - 6 killed, 17 wounded. etc. But truth is it is NOT any particular intesection that is dangerous. It is the drivers.

That's provably false. Redesigning dangerous intersections has a marked and measurable impact on number and severity of accidents. Bad or impaired drivers will exist regardless. If you make the roads safer, they will kill fewer people. Of your objective is fewer road deaths, it is ridiculous to ignore that fact.

We haven’t done that, but my city does put up “recent traffic death” signs for a few months at intersections where it occurs. We also have “high crash intersection” signs it locations where they’re frequent.

I'm not sure if this is true for all of Brazil. But I visited Campinas, a city close to São Paulo, and they had these body outlines on the roads where pedestrians had been killed. I thought that was pretty gruesome, but effective. Makes you think twice about jaywalking

Dreamer. Some places do this, often with a private organization that provides funding and/or assistance. Have seen locations with a literal wall of permanent memorial objects. New ones still keep being added.

South Dakota puts up a “Why die?” sign on the side of the highway at the site of every fatal crash, one for each person who died there. Pretty sure they don’t stop highway fatalities.

My state puts up small blue memorial signs. This was meant to curtail the large memorial altars that appear sometimes. One nearby intersection has two signs, but I know of additional fatalities.

We actually have stickers on high risk intersections for pedestrians that have the number of crashes written on them so they'll pay extra attention and I think we tested fluorescent signs that say high risk with two cars crashing in them. Not sure if they were effective or not.
