ULPT Request Getting to a location and back untraced
Posted by catalineconspiracy@reddit | UnethicalLifeProTips | View on Reddit | 70 comments
I want to find a way to get to a place about 10 miles from my point of embarkation and back again untraced, so no cameras picking up license plates or anything. There are no public transport options. I'm stumped.
PARANOIAH@reddit
Burrow underground Bugs Bunny style.
katzohki@reddit
People get away with motorcycles that have no plates / obstructed plates all day long. 10 miles is easily in reach of an electric bicycle too on city streets.
Fattydog@reddit
If you’re talking about city funded bikes, they all have trackers.
longdistancepew@reddit
Wear a mask.
Xtay1@reddit
Made of skin, Buffalo Bill is this you?
Calchrome145@reddit
OP is trying to go pick up the "fabric" without being seen.
vonhoother@reddit
Hitchhike.
Or steal a car. Steal some license plates and put them on the car while you're at it.
Calchrome145@reddit
Hitchhiking is a safe idea in this instance because the likelihood of two serial killers being in the same car are minimal.
BAT123456789@reddit
Bicycle.
One-Presence-1692@reddit
If you couldn’t figure that one out OP, chances are you won’t have the bandwidth to pull off whatever it is you’re trying to do…
catalineconspiracy@reddit (OP)
Ah yes. I'll put on a mask, and the bike 10 miles past every ring camera and traffic camera and back again. An untraceable crime. What an arch criminal you are, thanks for the input.
Mackheath1@reddit
Nobody watches the cameras - they're there for "after a crime is committed" to review. So if whatever you're doing doesn't attract attention, then nobody will bother to go through the cameras. Use smaller roads and trails, wear your gear and get ready for a 10mi walk, which should take about 3 hours each way. Or cycle on a 'burner' bicycle. Or test drive a vehicle, but that would definitely draw attention.
Leave your phone at home. Don't faraday it, just leave it at home and have your route memorized, it will be your alibi that you were home the entire time.
anyname6789@reddit
It seems that “after a crime is committed” is the crux of OP’s problem here.
sparhawk817@reddit
Wear a N95 or surgical mask, if questioned it's for traffic pollution and pollen, also flu season.
Or you could wear a buff, one of those neck gaiter tube things? Pull it up over your nose as needed.
Make an effort to use sidewalks and multi use trails when possible. Bike through parking lots instead of streets with intersections.
Helmet, mask, glasses, leave the phone at home, it's really not that hard.
originalityescapesme@reddit
It’s a more intelligent move than posting about it on reddit lol
Granadafan@reddit
You’re not thinking this through. Bikes are quiet and harder to spot with no plates. Wear a helmet and sunglasses. If you’re doing this at night, you can put a hoodie on as well. When you’re done, change clothes somewhere.
Aska_Feld@reddit
You better go with them. They blow their nose and they won't have enough brain cells left to make it home.
BigDaddyBumbo77@reddit
Gonna be real hard to bike 10miles with a dead body 😲😵
happiesthyperbolist@reddit
Cargo bike.
Stainless_Heart@reddit
Mopeds or motorized bikes/scooters with an engine under 50cc do not require license plates or registration in many states - that’s why they are often called “drunk cycles” as they become the only transportation for DUI idiots who have lost their license.
You can buy a used one for $200-$900 on FB Marketplace and sell it just as easily when you’re done with your totally innocent errand.
Wearing a full face helmet is perfectly reasonable to do.
Proof_Bathroom_3902@reddit
Does this involve a half ton pallet of margarine?
evnacdc@reddit
That was such a ridiculous post history.
Leaf-Stars@reddit
Leave your phone at home. Got a bike handy?
goodboyralphy@reddit
Put your phone in a foil lined chip bag. They work as faraday cages.
East-Psychology7186@reddit
lol this does not work. Neither does foil
FakeAsFakeCanBe@reddit
"Aluminum foil is not effective in blocking cell phone tracking signals. Cell phone tracking involves GPS technology and communication with cell towers, which can’t be blocked by a simple layer of foil. For privacy and security concerns, it’s best to use specialized tools or apps designed specifically for blocking tracking attempts on mobile devices."
"While aluminum is a conductor of electricity and can block electromagnetic radiation, it is not a foolproof method for blocking cell phone signals. In fact, the effectiveness of aluminum foil in blocking signals can vary depending on the thickness of the foil, the specific frequency of the signal, and the strength of the signal itself."
East-Psychology7186@reddit
Yea that’s why I said it doesn’t work 👍
p00n-slayer-69@reddit
If you take it out to use it, then it can be tracked. Why bring it at all?
Nubian_Cavalry@reddit
Just incase
imnotsafeatwork@reddit
Crawl inside the bag. Problem solved.
lemme_just_say@reddit
Needs a map to location to hide the bodies.
p00n-slayer-69@reddit
Don't forget to hold your paper map above your head and look up at it so the satellites cant tell which part of it youre looking at.

Leaf-Stars@reddit
Faraday bags aren’t that expensive.
InfinityLoo@reddit
And they’re often unreliable. As would be a chip bag. Leave it at home.
Xtay1@reddit
Or... here is a crazy idea. Don't carry your phone.
Leaf-Stars@reddit
Apparently, that is too hard for some people.
sparhawk817@reddit
Public transit usually has cameras these days, so regardless of license plates, that would still be recorded.
10 miles is like, an hour on a bike if you're not trying to go fast. Like a 12 mph pace, which is pretty leisurely, is 50 minutes for 10 miles.
If you REALLY want to get away with it, and remember this is ULPT, steal a bike, go commit your crime or whatever, then put the bike back where you stole it from.
Not your bike, plausible deniability for the owner, and they get their bike back at the end of the day.
I would never realistically advocate to steal a bike, that shit sucks, someone is expecting to get home on it and they clock out and it's gone? Shits rough.
stargazer0519@reddit
If you have or can borrow an e-bike, that may be the easiest. Most of them have great range nowadays. I used to travel seven miles on my e-bike regularly.
Rudra_Niranjan@reddit
Would you later submit a post asking how to dispose off a 180 pound chicken?
Shell-Fire@reddit
Put it on a pig farm.
Jimmytwofist@reddit
Won't work. The cylinder must remain unharmed.
Knotty-Bob@reddit
Don't bring your phone. Use servitudes, pipelines, transmission lines, and natural waterways. Public sidewalks and streets will definitely have camera coverage.
REAL-Jesus-Christ@reddit
Would good stage makeup help in this situation?
Zestyclose-Cap1829@reddit
Hitch and wear clothing you don't normally wear and leave devices at home. Wear sunglasses and a hat.
BigGolonka@reddit
Walk through woods and pray they aren’t cameras
Aska_Feld@reddit
Appropriate dress and cameras shouldn't be an issue'd, although I think I'd get a pair of shoes a couple sizes larger than what Id normally wear and toss them after.
BigGolonka@reddit
lol I’m afraid to ask for more details on this question. Might have to upgrade to a different subreddit

Find an isolated lot on the other side of the destination... if the destination is north of you, circle widely around the destination until you are north of it.
Find a strip mall parking lot and look for cams.
Many won't have them, and the ones that exist are likely trash quality.
Buy a cheap ass night vision camera on Amazon.
In night vision mode, you will be able to see massive points of light if there are any night vision camera filming you.
(Bonus...the night vision camera will blind other night vision cameras when on.)
Once you find your spot, do what you gotta do by walking or riding a bike to your destination.
When coming back and leaving the area, head north again. Do at least ten miles before looping back home.
Bonus points for heading north, turning west, then looping back eastward and down amd around.
Tracking a vehicle by multiple cameras is hard over long distances.
The more direction changes you make in desolate areas, the more likely it is they will lose the trail.
If you head in a straight route, they can guess your destination amd check cameras along that path.
Keep changing directions heading away from your destination and that is how you can loose hide the trail of breadcrumbs before heading back home.
forestdude@reddit
Have a pickup truck. Remove the front license plate. Put your tailgate down. Congrats, you're now a ghost

WesTxStoner425@reddit
Why hasn't anybody suggested an electric scooter? Quiet and more and more common. Just buy it with cash , drive to a nearby mall/ strip mall, unload and finish your trip. Leave your phone in the car, buy burner if you must.
Spaceseeker51@reddit
Take it to the Louvre!
Bear__Fucker@reddit
You can buy fake license plates online. People do this to avoid paying tolls and traffic cams. It comes with the obvious risk of being pulled over for fake plates.
Whatever you do, leave any cell phone, smartwatch, or similar devices at home.
Granadafan@reddit
I got pulled over for speeding once. When the cop ran my license and registration he then asked me why I had a different plate. I was confused as hell. When we looked at the back plate, sure enough it was not mine. Even the license plate holder was missing. Oddly, my current front license plate was still on the car. Cop said that it was likely that a thief swapped plates mine with the same type and color car. I had to go to the DMV to get whole new and different plates. For months I was getting parking and red light camera tickets. That was a court nightmare
IndignantQueef@reddit
This is super common where I live. You can buy licence plate screws that require an allen wrench to unscrew. I tell all my new neighbors to buy them. Apparently criminals don't carry allen wrenches. I had my plates stolen twice in two months and then never again once I switched.
Also spent two years fighting a red light camera ticket for an SUV with my plates (I drive a tiny Nissan) in DC (where i never go) which was an entire fucking ordeal.
Granadafan@reddit
Oh that’s a great idea to put different screws on
Incognitowally@reddit
Too many cars nowadays have grid-connected interior electronics that would defeat his request.
Shibi_SF@reddit
My curiosity is piqued by your request, but I have questions…
Is this an urban environment? Suburbs? Rural? Are you fit enough for a jog? Are you in a hurry to complete the round trip or do you have time to meander and take alternative routes? Will you be carrying anything or can you take a backpack (for disguises)?
TemporaryBitchFace@reddit
Borrow someone else’s car. Temporarily cover the license plate partially in a random way with mud. Wear sunglasses and a hat. Hiding in plain sight by blending in is often the best way to avoid getting caught.
jueidu@reddit
1) Ride share (not uber or Lyft but like an actual ride share).
2) Using a fake social media profile, ask in local Facebook or Reddit groups for anyone local willing to give you a ride
3) Taxi, and pay cash (uber and Lyft don’t take cash but taxis still do)
4) Borrow a bicycle (local “Buy Nothing” group or similar type facebook or Reddit group are usually willing to loan a bike), or rent one.

He needs an anonymous FB account... FB now asks video selfies and phone numbers from new account creators.
uj7895@reddit
Bad weather.
catalineconspiracy@reddit (OP)
Actually that's a good idea
uj7895@reddit
I have often wondered the same thing. That’s all I can come up with. Don’t bring a phone, don’t ever do an online search for anything remotely related. 10 miles pretty much the cutoff without any for of mechanical assist, but it’s only 5 hours. If you live somewhere with hail-able cabs that take cash, probably hike a mile out, a mile in, and reverse going a different route. Another plan I have had is buying an old shitbox car for cash, hopefully with tags but you could always test drive a car and copy the paper tags, parking it a mile from base and target and never, and then find a salvage place that will accept it with the skip title. But you still need bad weather.
3seconds2live@reddit
Pretty much too late. Asked on an open forum how to do it already 😂

not sure what ur up to but if biking concerns u about ring cameras than probably stop stalking or planning your hit..cos they will find this feed..c u on r/true crime discussion soon
