At least it smells like garlic in here
Draft-Repulsive@reddit
What were you going to do with it?
Still can probably salvage - mince it up and add to a sauce or just smush that up with the oil over pasta or whatever
Dietslurm5925@reddit (OP)
I was just gonna put it on some crusty bread but I'll probably just toss em. I'll save the oil and make a mayo with it though.
PaidToBeRedditing@reddit
i'd just toss it all in with some eggs and a mit of lemon and make super garlic mayo
Prior_Talk_7726@reddit
Why toss it. I'm sure it tastes great.
Beardedben@reddit
Did you not submerge the garlic? Its needs to be completely covered in oil and cooked at a low temp for 40 mins to an hour.
Blurstingwithemotion@reddit
It's easier in the oven
RandomMeRandomU@reddit
Looks less like confit garlic and more like garlic that just survived a house fire.
Dietslurm5925@reddit (OP)
I think it looks like bugs.
Mister_angel1@reddit
It does
srinkylegitimate@reddit
Baby that is roaches
Toolb0xExtraordinary@reddit
I thought those were fried cicadas lmao
Jumpy_Dog_194@reddit
I used to love fried cicadas, they kinda tasted like potato chips and they expanded and contracted when you cooked them
Psychological_Buy726@reddit
I seriously thought about making this my first down vote ever.
broccoli_toots@reddit
You absolutely should

What? Who doesn't love wood shrimp

Visual-Garage7662@reddit
Reading the words doesn’t make it look any more like garlic to me ❌🧄
criticalpwnage@reddit
It looks like you deep fried some sort of bug larva
Chris_Wilson14@reddit
They're not a lost cause just smash them up on a piece of bruschetta with a few slices of salami and you have yourself a good snack.
hxneycovess@reddit
these are literally just silkworms
Dizzy-Confection-551@reddit
Garlic you say?
B5_V3@reddit
My guy it’s not that complicated.
Take garlic Put in oven safe dish Submerge in neutral oil Cover with tin foil Throw into 350 degree oven for 30-40 mins Money.
alyssazekegenie@reddit
Submerge OP listen to him please
DanglingTangler@reddit
Needs to be hotter
Dietslurm5925@reddit (OP)
Is that how to make black garlic? /j
Toros_Mueren_Por_Mi@reddit
Yes you toast then to black, drain and then pulverize them with mallet or blend in food processor. Then you mix with good quality sesame oil and store in airtight container it will keep in the fridge up to four months. The Japanese name is "Mayu" its a delicious traditional condiment for tonkotsu base ramen
OpheliaPhoeniXXX@reddit
Slivce the very top of a bulb off, soak in oil, and bake in the oven, keeping the skins on while it goes keeps it soft. Slicing the top off ahead of time makes it super easy to pop all of the cloves out.
Tw1987@reddit
Where the Filipinos at. They be like this looks normal to me just add some rice
Flustro@reddit
Botfly larvae.
lilgreengoddess@reddit
Yikes lol just steam cooked some garlic in foil with the skins on and put it on pizza. It was top tier. Sad shitty alternative lol

Is this the new Cuisinart 'hexclad' type pan? How is it?
Dietslurm5925@reddit (OP)
Not great honestly, the supposed non stick surface was only truly effective the first few times I used it. It does clean easily at least.
twogunsalute@reddit
That's sad, how much was it?
twogunsalute@reddit
I thought you're supposed to put it on a low heat, not incinerate it. Maybe try the oven next time.
grimspectre@reddit
Use an oven next time? You don't need high temps for these.
