Drone today in our flight path?

Flying AA 5085 from ATL-PHL today. Pretty sure we took a somewhat evasive maneuver to avoid a drone. We banked somewhat abruptly, and I noticed a small white object with a green light zoom past our plane.
I looked on Flight Radar after we landed to see what our altitude was when it happened, and we were at 3,000 ft (2:17 pm ET). Pretty crazy.

Maybe a little wake turbulence roll/bank or just a bump. Highly unlikely that it was a drone at 3,000’.

I would agree, but there’s absolutely no question I saw something out the window.

that's the part that makes it sound even less likely... were you in seat F? you were, weren't you?

It was a CRJ 900 and I was in 4A
ABCapt@reddit
The object you saw was moving in the opposite direction? Or same-ish direction but moving away?
You were on the left side of the airplane, if it was moving in the same-ish and away from your direction and the light was green, it could have a navigation light on the wing of a different airplane. If it was moving in the opposite direction and it was a red light, it could have been a navigation light of a different airplane in the distance.

…says every “drone” and UFO hallucinator.

I fly every week for work, so I know what I saw was far too small to be a plane. Apologies if I’m not using the correct term. Again, not coming here to start a conspiracy theory. Merely posting to ask what I might have seen.

Overconfidence in one’s own perception seems to be one of the main drivers of the “drone” and broader UFO phenomenon. There’s the routine insistence that “I know what I saw!” You can literally observe it here on Reddit with the continuous stream of ufo / uap / “drone” reports, of which this is just one of many. The fact that you are using the word “drone” to refer to something you think you saw and can’t identify already shows how you are applying imagination onto your fallible human perception in exactly the same way as all of the many, many people who see something they can’t identify and imagine it’s a “drone.”
This is something that is happening at scale and that a lot of people are doing. Someone needs to study you people and figure out what’s going on psychologically.

I’m not here to debate what I saw. And I’m not a UFO person or conspiracy theorist. I posted here merely to ask what it could have been. Thanks for your input.
Comfortable-Yak-2555@reddit
Ah yeah that was my drone. My bad!
songwritersonprocess@reddit (OP)
Let me clarify. I’m not here to start a wild conspiracy theory or to claim I saw a UFO. I’m here to ask what I might have seen. I fly every week for work, so sadly I’m used to staring out a window. I’m not here to debate the authenticity of my claim but to ask what I might have seen. That’s it.

So sick of people hallucinating drones.
songwritersonprocess@reddit (OP)
I never said it was a drone, hence the question mark in the title. I’m posting here as a question to people because I’m curious what it was.
jdkdmmernnen@reddit
You referred to it as a drone twice. Another consistent trait of drone hallucinators is the inability to stick to actual facts and insistence on playing games when discussing the subject.
songwritersonprocess@reddit (OP)
My title has a question mark, indicating that I was asking the group if it was possible that I saw a drone. Then my text says “pretty sure,” further indicating my level of uncertainty. My use of the term “drone” in no way demonstrates a level of certainty. I came here merely to ask the group what I might have seen. I’m sorry if you misinterpreted.

Go post this on r/aliens they will lap it up

There’s no way your pilots would be able to see and then maneuver for a drone.
Mauro_Ranallo@reddit
All I'll say is that your track looks the same as pretty much every other PHL arrival from the south around that time.
Key-Monk6159@reddit
3K would be too high for the average commercial drone. You should have asked the flight crew about it when deboarding.
theusualsuspects345@reddit
Would have to be a huge drone for the pilots to see it. Flight path on flight radar is normal and if it was a drone, the pilots would report it and the airport would probably close for a bit to be safe.
songwritersonprocess@reddit (OP)
I should’ve added we were still 10 mins from landing.
