Watched it come in way too low and crash next to a canal https://www.azfamily.com/2025/11/17/small-plane-crashes-canal-road-mesa/

One of the CAE flight school Archers. He was on short final, less than a quarter mile from the airport, something happened to make him take a hard 90 to the right and try to land it on the canal road.

Sounded like his engine was giving out

I heard it an took a video of it over my house in Tempe, propeller looked slow and landing gear looked like it was out

Not at all the aircraft involved in the accident.
Yes, the landing gear does tend to be down on fixed-gear aircraft.

Hopefully, anyway.

Glad they were OK. I witnessed that orchard on the other side of the canal claim four lives. It wasn’t a pretty sight.

Which crash was that one, I know there was one in an intersection that hit a car and killed a family and another that landed in the canal but I didnt think anyone died in that one.

About six or eight years ago, a Lanceair was taking off, lost power and dove into the orchard right across from Panda Express. Nothing anybody could do but watch it burn. 4 young adults going back to California.

You can’t park here, mate.

Is this not a reasonable place to park?

He's not parking, he's resting.

My son is there at CAE right now. He flew this plane 3 weeks ago. He literally texted me to say don’t worry I’m fine. So is everyone on the plane before it hit the news

No injuries, yay!
