xzanfr@reddit
That looks great. Add in some cucumber and cover in vinegar (especially vinegar from pickled onions) and it'll lift it to god tier.
No_Yak1331@reddit
This is one of the many, MANY examples on this sub of meals that visually look terrible, but also technically look delicious simply because we know what the ingredients taste like together
Exciting_Pass_6344@reddit
Spend a couple minutes and chop up some celery and a bit of black pepper and that’s my tuna salad that my son loves.
SanestExile@reddit
Celery? Wtf? This needs some green onions and pickles.
PixelmancerGames@reddit
Or pickles, instead of celery.
Tw1987@reddit
Not for us who hate canned tuna.
i_was_a_person_once@reddit
This is one of my favorite comfort meals but with saltines
LilArtsyCreature@reddit
Take out the bread roll and replace it with rice instead and roll it all together and you almost have a rice ball, just gotta add the nori 😋

Squirtle Squad 4 Life
Dork31@reddit
Agree, but it would take less than a minute to make it look 100x better. I have created a similar "dish" and it does taste great, as you said.
Spell_me@reddit
But I enjoy the casual “I’m not trying too hard” appearance that OP achieves with this plating.
Dork31@reddit
Like I said, I have created similar (casual) dishes myself. My point was that it doesn't have to be so beat-up looking. Maybe add parsley and hard-crust Italian bread. It's the same concept without the gross factor.
fluxumbra@reddit
Then it would be r/rslightlygivingashitfoodporn
Dork31@reddit
Funny! Admittedly I have gotten upset when people post stuff that doesn’t fit the SFP sub. In this case it was just a sloppy mess that could have been fixed with little effort and not a burnt hotel pan full of lasagna.
_netgyrl_@reddit
Something about the lighting, makes it look like there are worms wiggling around on the top of it
Ting_Tong72@reddit
I’m sure it tasted awesome! Except I had to give it a triple take because at first glance I thought the gray color was actually dog hair threads or something! Glad it’s just shadows.
FartSmeIa@reddit (OP)
i have a dog so i probably have a knot full of hair in my stomach so a few more wouldnt hurt, also the back dots are black pepper
Ting_Tong72@reddit
Oh I see the black dots! Pepper is essential with tuna salad.
Have you ever considered adding a few teaspoons of sweet pickle water from the jar to your tuna/mayo? It’s majestic! It will make you want to actually add the sweet pickles themselves into the mix! (finely chopped)
FartSmeIa@reddit (OP)
i havent tried it yet, i used to add chopped celery but i dint have any :( it was like 2am when i made this
BarleyDefault@reddit
Op I want you to know your post inspired me to make a 2am sardine mayo hot sauce sandwich. Next time I'm gonna add some shredded lettuce and I think you could consider the same
Impressive-Pepper785@reddit
It’s very mayo forward
FartSmeIa@reddit (OP)
i like it when i dont have to chew and i can just slide the food back into my throat like a bird

I add pickle chunks. Love this.
Nickolas_No_H@reddit
Is that relish or cut and quartered wholes?
My nickname is pickle. Drop the recipe if you can.
foxxy_mama21@reddit
I get the sandwich discs and cut them up.
Tuna, mayo, salt, pepper, pickle juice and chunks of pickle. As always, to your liking for each.
DowntownEconomist255@reddit
I love a chopped up dill pickle on my tuna sandwich.
Bilbo_Teabagginss@reddit
Similar-Ice-9250@reddit
I usually add celery and diced onion, pickle chunks sounds interesting too.
littlegrotesquerie@reddit
A little brown mustard and paprika is good too.
DowntownEconomist255@reddit
That was…descriptive

Chem1st@reddit
Bro, this essentially happened to me when I was a kid, like 5 years old. I was visiting DC with my parents, and got super excited seeing hot dog vendor selling FOOTLONG!!!!! hotdogs. My parents got me one, and I ate it way too quickly. I threw it up about 5 minutes later, and my dad said it was essentially just bitten in half and unchewed.
YourBudAnonymous@reddit
Them looking at you and the half uneaten regurgitated hotdog on the floor
Chem1st@reddit
I think that was more the face of the seagull that swooped down and stole one half of the regurgitated hot dog.
CapybaraSensualist@reddit
"Bro. My wingbrother. I shit you not, a full half a barf dog ALL TO MYSELF. What a day that was."

Man, thats the grossest thing I could imagine doing with Mayo.
_n3ll_@reddit
I didn't know mayo could be used as a soup base, but here we are...
lilacs_and_marigolds@reddit
That's how you keep from tasting the tuna.
Creepycute1@reddit
This isnt even that bad its literally just a normal tuna sandwich just...bread in the side
surivanoroc20@reddit
About 30% less mayo.
Add diced onion, cucumber, bell paper, salt, black pepper, a squeeze of lime juice, habanero sauce.
PM_ME_A_NUMBER_1TO10@reddit
There's a reason tuna mayo is the most loved onigiri flavour in Japan. It's the fucking bomb.
VexTheTielfling@reddit
Nice, I like some olives, Onions, a little squirt of mayo and relish. Instead of bread I do salted crackers or goldfish crackers.
Deso_13@reddit
I slice a few pickles into chunks and throw them into my tuna mayo’s now it’s a great addition
Ikamaru@reddit
Been using dill and Dijon mustard lately!
VexTheTielfling@reddit
Mustard is great with tuna salad.
DowntownEconomist255@reddit
What type of mustard do you use?
VexTheTielfling@reddit
I like yellow with cold sandwiches and crackers. Dijon is a bit stronger tasting I prefer it in a tuna melt with pickle spears and some kettle chips.
hennsippin@reddit
Had the other ingredients, but never thought of olives. Green or black? Initially thought green for the brine but willing to try other
enderpanda@reddit
Green for tuna, black for seafood salad (imitation crab), imo.
meltedchocolatepants@reddit
Spouse loves green olives. Can't have tuna without it
VexTheTielfling@reddit
Either work. I prefer black but green are good too.
the_unknown_garden@reddit
I do this with heavy onion and add ginger powder and red pepper flakes. I like water crackers with mine though, let the tuna be the star.
TyrantJoe@reddit
Sounds great, if you like those stronger flavors you might like sardines rather than tuna, they are better for you!
VexTheTielfling@reddit
I do sardines too but with onions, tomatoes, Serrano and avocado. Very fishy but so good.
meltedchocolatepants@reddit
I add onions, minced celery, old bay and lemon powder (TruLemon).
I am going to have that for lunch now. That sounds awesome.
angry4nus@reddit
Next time add some relish to it
Butterflies_Branches@reddit
personally id add some mustard and some relish and some spices to that, but tuna and mayo sandwiches are pretty yummy.
i remember i made smth similar and added corn onto it and put it on crackers
Jaren56@reddit
At least add some relish/mustard or spices, I promise it'll be a lot better. A diced up boiled egg is also a great addition to tuna salad
Auerbach1991@reddit
I do this but with small dabs of the tuna/mayo between two saltine crackers. I make 10-12 sandwiches and have it for lunch sometimes, easy, cheap and delicious!
OriginalEvaGreen@reddit
I'll always have a special place in my heart for a tuna mayo sandwich as it was literally the best sandwich I've ever had .... After 5 Days without food I was bloody starving and managed to get my hands on some frozen bread, a tin of tuna and a few of the little packets of mayo ... Didn't even wait for the bread to defrost properly ... It was terrible but yet the best sandwich I've ever had 😅💕
ModifiedSammi@reddit
It's just tuna salad.
AWESOMENESSJR@reddit
No gallons of mayo were hurt during the making of this tuna salad.....
Chris_Wilson14@reddit
It needs some raw red onion and green peppers otherwise it's a classic snack.
highcommander010@reddit
The Tuna yearn for the mayo <3

EmiChafouine@reddit
next time: tuna, philadelphia, lemon fillet, chives, garlic toast. It's easy to eat as a starter or as an aperitif
rageofcheese@reddit
Nice just throw in some pickles
MrConductorsAshes@reddit
There's this really cool thing you can do with bread it's called making a sandwich.
FartSmeIa@reddit (OP)
why would i make it more complicated if i can just spoon feed myself tuna? making a sandwich would require me to cut the bread.. yeah no
MrConductorsAshes@reddit
To appear more human and less rodent-like? Idk...
stupidcaprisun@reddit
Eating uncut bread like a rodent makes the meal taste better. You just don't get it
YchYFi@reddit
Societal shame is the thief of joy.
norunningwater@reddit

Lupo_Bi-Wan_Kenobi@reddit
You're not gonna believe this but I'll tell ya anyway. You can actually buy sliced bread nowadays. No cutting required.
FartSmeIa@reddit (OP)
why would i do that if i like bread rolls😭😭
scaper8@reddit
They, ah, they make those pre-sliced, too. LOL.
FartSmeIa@reddit (OP)
i have genuinely never seen breadrolls pre sliced, they are small pastries that don’t need slicing
hennsippin@reddit
I get it. Bread is really just a delivery device. Like fries and ketchup for me. Would look weird eating ketchup with a spoon, but add fries and it is more socially acceptable
NumbBase@reddit
Tubby Custard!!
AdWorking6057@reddit
Okay hear me out, cause i definitely doubted my friend when they put me on this But tuna salad like you made, with chopped up apples The crunch and tiny bit of sweetness added from the apple makes a huge difference compared to just eating the wet and slimy fish and mayo combo
jm90012@reddit
I would love this! 🤤😍😋
HickoryStickz@reddit
We’re all guilty of eating this slop (I add green olives to mine) but we should NEVER share it with people to see

VintageBoost1@reddit
Finely dice up some pickles and red onions and mix it in. That would truly make this 10/10 for me.
ragun2@reddit
Celery and onions elevate tuna salad sandwiches so much.
InfelicitousRedditor@reddit
I like to put black pepper on that, but I feel you, it's delicious!
muffnutty@reddit
It’s Ben a long time since a picture on this sub has triggered me gag reflex, thank you
Blurstingwithemotion@reddit
I like the idea of using the bread as a spork
scaper8@reddit
That's just a deconstructed (but very basic) tuna salad sandwich.
Successful_Rip_4329@reddit
Add diced raw onion, corn and boiled diced egg.
Urtan_TRADE@reddit
Tuna, mayo, finely diced onion+ pickles, and freshly ground pepper on fresh bread is straight up delicious.
phillgascon@reddit
yikes where's the chives guy when u need him
FormingTheVoid@reddit
You know you can put more than just mayo in the tuna salad right?
Nickolas_No_H@reddit
Where's your pickles/olives? No garbage ass celery to complain about? Lol
FartSmeIa@reddit (OP)
this is a shitty food sub🙄🙄sorry i dont make food that looks edible and gourmet
Nickolas_No_H@reddit
I swear I forget how gross celery is everytime I eat the crap. Yet I still buy it lmao
Fsharpmaj7@reddit
You made me so much comfortable with how much I use when I make mine… also, try it with kettle style potato chips. Tim’s are the best.
-lyd-irl-@reddit
My mom's recipe is tuna, half mayo/half miracle whip, fresh dill, and minced celery. Optional green onion. It's heavenly

No_Walrus7704@reddit
Tuna, booled eggs, onions, celery, sweet relish, dill relish, Miracle Whip (I said what I said!), Dijon mustard, pepper, a Lil garlic powder, cover top with paprika. That's a proper tuna salad
ChefAsstastic@reddit
808_Lion@reddit
I've done the same more than once. Hell I've torn up bread and mixed the pieces in it all and ate my lazy tuna sandwich with a spoon.
AcaiDash@reddit
We call that a tuna sandwich in my family

At that point just add seasoning and put it between 2 slices of bread.
buttf4rt420@reddit
