Fancy(ish) Lunch

My husband and I are trying to do a lunch date more frequently. It does not need to be fancy, but it can be! I’ve taken to calling it “fancy lunch,” because it’s just an excuse for me to dress up a little and have a nice meal. So far I’ve thought of Mirador, Hudson House, Rex’s, Goodwins but I’d like help with more recommendations! Anywhere in Dallas or to the east or north is fine. Thanks in advance!

Al Biernat’s on Oak Lawn has a nice lunch. The north Dallas location may too, but I’ve never been to it.
I recently went to Sachet for lunch and it was a delightful surprise! It’s Mediterranean. Lots of small plates but also bowls and sandwiches. I had a lamb sandwich and split the beet appetizer with my friend.
The atmosphere is terrific. It’s a beautiful space. I thought the service was really good.
I second the person who suggested Bistro 31. It’s my favorite place for a fancy lunch. The food is really good and the service is perfection. And the people watching…! Top notch! Ask for a table up front in the window—you want the cream leather chairs at a table for two. Trust me!

Smoky Rose by the Arboretum. Really neat outdoor seating areas, great food and service. Parking is by valet only but is free (obviously you’ll feel pressured to leave a tip). They do have cashless options to tip, ie venmo, cash app.

I have never gotten the appeal of this place. The food is mid on a good day and over priced every day, the valet parking is a nuisance,

S&D Oyster House on McKinney. Absolutely not a place you have to dress up. But during lunch on a weekday you won’t be out of place. Lots of well dressed finance/law workers take work lunches there. On a nice day, eat in the courtyard in the back and it’ll feel straight out of New Orleans

Perry’s has a Friday afternoon pork chop for $19 and is right next to klyde warren parks so if the weather is nice you could go for a little walk outside.
