Wild tugs work to drive predatory aircraft out of their territory
BearCavalryCorpral@reddit
"Watch as the herd of tugs band together to drive off the much bigger Boeing"
BartyJnr@reddit
Looks like the plane is backing up like AH. AHH. AAHHH GET AWAY FROM ME
Suspicious-Carry-168@reddit
Very cool
Many-Koalas@reddit
I like to think the drivers didn't tell anyone in advance and there's a couple of very confused pilots in this video.
AshleyAshes1984@reddit
"Langoliers are real! I TOLD YOU!!!"
DoctorDinghus@reddit
I sat next to David Prowse on a plane 10-15 yesrs back. The dude was tall and was a fucking cool dude.
Cel_Drow@reddit
David Prowse wasn’t in The Langoliers miniseries, and Stephen King wrote the book.
I’m so confused right now trying to figure out the connection. Did you maybe mean David Morse? He was in the miniseries and he’s like 6’3”.
DoctorDinghus@reddit
Yes good catch I can never get his last name correct ever.
Cel_Drow@reddit
David Prowse was the physical actor for Darth Vader so the physical stature matches, but the name and demeanor not as much haha.
Threw me for a loop.
028247@reddit
One might think that someone broke into the apron, GTAed on one of the tugs and is messing with planes while other people are chasing them
vahntitrio@reddit
Or passengers seeing all that.
Drunkenaviator@reddit
"Hey bob, did I have one too many? How many push back tugs do you see?"
RandomRedditor0193@reddit
This would make me wonder as a passenger.
Kooky_Following7169@reddit
POINTS!!!
Proper_Look_7507@reddit
This has some Minions/Despicable Me energy and I am here for it
Hirohitoswaifu@reddit
Look like lots of little bugs lol. Happy retirement tug man 🫡
__O_o_______@reddit
They DO move in herds!
Zultan9000@reddit
They're flocking this way- the pilot.
LupineChemist@reddit
Attenborough voice:
"When a female tug is in heat, she can attract quite the crowd to vie for her attention"
Salty_Candy_4917@reddit
They used to call me that in high school
RimRunningRagged@reddit
Reminds me of those videos where a wasp invades a bee hive and proceeds to get swarmed by all the worker bees
Massakahorscht@reddit
Clearly a swarm of little animals fend off a much bigger attacker and try to free one of their kind from his talons with success in the end. Then the Attacker flies away.
charleyhstl@reddit
Dang it's like the Ravagers in Guardians of the Galaxy
Old-Cream6210@reddit
That's cute and funny at the same time
mkfn59@reddit
RESPECT.!!.🫡🫡
allieressa@reddit
This is incredibly wholesome.
PaulMuadDib-Usul@reddit
Wholesome.
OptiGuy4u@reddit
Needed to end with everyone driving in a line while doing S's.
LinIsStrong@reddit
I didn’t know they did this. It’s actually quite moving to see the recognition. Happy Retirement!
TheVoicesSpeakToMe@reddit
Probably a dutch thing. European companies tend to respect their workers more then American companies do.
xtremesaturn@reddit
Yup. I work for the airlines. Rampers absolutely mean nothing. They are worth less than the baggage carts they get paid to move around. Terrible country.
mw66227@reddit
It's the country's fault? How? If it is such a horrible country how come the lines to come here are a million times longer than the lines leaving? You know why! Coz you're full of it. Please leave if you find it so bad!
xtremesaturn@reddit
Well it's the culture, or lack thereof that's the problem. Because there's a few billion people living in poverty around the world? That doesn't really prove anything, just the fact that there are desperate people elsewhere. By a % I'm sure there are just as many if not more here, they are just drugged out beyond being able to help themselves.
I am leaving, thanks for the advice.
mw66227@reddit
Thank you for leaving.

It’s just a work place culture thing. I don’t know why so many people are getting butt hurt about it. I do not care at all if my employer likes me. I go to work to get paid. That’s it.
In the US people tend to take home more money at the end of the day than in Europe. In Europe people tend to have stronger worker protections and better work place environments because of it. But in exchange they tend to make a less than their US counterparts.
I have duel dutch/American citizenships, so I really have no steak in the game either way on this matter. It’s just a factual observation.
HeadhunterKev@reddit
Because Reddit is mainly used by Americans.
Notathrowaway347@reddit
Valid point
gefahr@reddit
because it's low effort /r/AmericaBad karma farming and this is r/aviation?
rando7651@reddit
What a crazy comment, do you know nothing about the wonderful healthcare employees go bankrupt for in the US…y’know I see what you mean now.

How can I make this about the US
Te_Luftwaffle@reddit
They should be no strangers to moving gestures since that's basically their whole job
LinIsStrong@reddit
Ha - thought of that after I wrote it. I’m gonna own the unintentional pun.
Imlooloo@reddit
I was with Delta back in the day when “super Tugs” were introduced that cost $1M each. The ones where the nose wheel rolls onto the tug. Not sure how much these are in the video here but that’s a lot of money right there. Several million bucks at least.
Huugboy@reddit
Flat land, muptiple KLM planes, and a runway close to the terminal. This this Schiphol?
JoseRM303@reddit
Yes it’s Schiphol.
BookiesAndCookies22@reddit
I’ve been there once and wondered if locals ever call it “shithole” airport? Probably not because it’s nice AF. But it made me giggle.
zseblodongo@reddit
One of the best airports to transfer at in Europe IMHO
iced_gold@reddit
The nickname I landed on was Schitpool.
greenkode@reddit
Lol. You forgot the WEATHER....
Ownitbadorgood@reddit
EHAM aka Schiphol.
el_baron86@reddit
Airplane trying to kidnap tug. Other tugs come to the rescue.
TheVoicesSpeakToMe@reddit
I would be lowkey terrified if I was on that plane and I saw 20 tugs converging on me.
94FnordRanger@reddit
I'm sure they told the aircrew what was happening- but it would be hilarious if someone didn't pass on the message.
Kiwiandapplex@reddit
How easy can you spot this as a pilot?
that_dutch_dude@reddit
[David attenborough voice] Here we see the larger but more delicate predator get scared off by the smaller but much more durable animals that are in greater numbers. One would think nature would have found a balance after many decades of standoffs like this but nature can be cruel at times....
MaxDriven@reddit
Able to push weights up to 50 times of their own, the colony of tugs swarm the 767, waiting for the pack leader to strike the finishing blow
disillusioned@reddit
I was going to go the "mating season is a busy, florid affair" path but this works too
cylordcenturion@reddit
Watch how the pack hunters stalk their larger more cumbersome prey.
Nok1a_@reddit
why this reminds me to the seagulls of finding nemo sayin "mine, mine"
jlt6666@reddit
The plane looks like it's trying to get away from all of them
Azurehue22@reddit
Delta Tug 4 is finally retiring…may he join Kennedy Steve at a bar.
monster_bunny@reddit
You love to see it.
benedictvc@reddit
imagin being the ground control at that particular day
bramoplare@reddit
What a sweet sendaoff for a dedicated tug driver—planes everywhere!
ShaneTheBilby@reddit
Aww thats so sweet
Jimbrutan@reddit
Pilot: 😰
Main-Bridge3482@reddit
"why are we forty minutes late for departure?"
"oh, because all of the available tug drivers are on the other side of the fucking airport."
TeriBarrons@reddit
I can just hear Kennedy Steve coordinating this!
FoxtrotSierraTango@reddit
This is nightmare fuel for him...
Horrison2@reddit
Why do they call it a tug when it does pushbacks?
arfanvlk@reddit
Depending on the gate it also does a push-pull and it tows empty aircraft around the airport.
der_kluge@reddit
Meanwhile, every other plane on the tarmac "We've been delayed 15 minutes for unknown reasons..."
whitemagicseal@reddit
I thought this was a code red and all tugs were moving in to the save the tug
Judoka229@reddit
This is that scene when Spanky and The Boys are backing Alfalfa up against a cliff to make him break up with Darla.
Choose or die!
Am I.....old?
R0binSage@reddit
Imagine the pilot not knowing what was going on.
XXXTYLING@reddit
there's like a combined 1 million lb/ft of torque in this video.
Desert_2007@reddit
The sentiment is nice but I dont want my coworkers watching my final tug if im honest.
InnerBreath2884@reddit
That must be one real heavy plane.
FlavorBlaster42@reddit
Have all these airport support vehicles been converted to battery electric yet?
depressedatomics@reddit
I didn't know what i was seeing at first and thought it was the po-po
kelsobjammin@reddit
That’s super cute ◡̈
West_Boot7246@reddit
Ravagers
Niidforseat@reddit
Meanwhile, all the other planes waiting for their pushbacks: 😐
dromzugg@reddit
I was thinking about all the times I've been waiting on ground crew. That and we normally count the ground crew and equipment to make sure everyone is away from the plane before starting our taxi, just a lot.more to count.
fresh_like_Oprah@reddit
lol, dude's last flag-in before retirement, you wait 10 minutes and then a hundred guys walk out waving the wands
Bumpercars415@reddit
Meh, they can wait, this is more important.
Vicus_92@reddit
"And if you look out your window, you'll see a pride of Tug vehicles in their natural habitat"

That plane just pissed Off ALL the Tugs!
NorthernLions@reddit
This is beautiful.
Krimreaper1@reddit
Not what I thought a 20 tug solute was.
fiittzzyy@reddit
It's so cool they do a lot of stuff like this within the aviation field.
nspy1011@reddit
This is the best thing I’ve seen today!
Chicago_Blackhawks@reddit
So cool
53881@reddit
OK but like, isn't this the exact moment that the airplanes have been waiting for to launch a counter-assault? Like if all the tug's are out there...who's keeping the planes in check so they don't take over?!
Dragon12Wolf@reddit
amazing
QuokkaNerd@reddit
Why did I just tear up? This is so wholesome!
ear2theshell@reddit
What does it take to get a tug job?
timihendri@reddit
I see what you did there
wellthatsjustyouropi@reddit
Tug man needs the water hose salute 👍🏽🫡
Cheeze187@reddit
It's not all fun and games if you've been hit by one.
BoSox92@reddit
I wonder just how much diesel they burned doing this
chaosalbtrauma@reddit
Probably notbing relative to the plane's fuel consumption
DestoryDerEchte@reddit
Turtle migration:
Dugoutcanoe1945@reddit
Very cool! Rites of passage are important.
ThePonderousBear@reddit
I hope he enjoyed his last tug job.
MoeSzyslakMonobrow@reddit
Plant pulled into the wrong neighborhood.
sportmonday@reddit
Meanwhile Ryanair and an easyJet are patiently waiting for push back….
pavehawkfavehawk@reddit
That’s friggin awesome!
makiko4@reddit
This makes me so happy! I wish they did this for all of them when they retired.
NewHope13@reddit
Awwww
CarminSanDiego@reddit
Looks like the plane is like ay chill out chill out I don’t want trouble
Lopkop@reddit
Looks like the unsuspecting plane walked in on a hive of tugs and is now backing out slowly as they menacingly advance
Holanderrante@reddit
Must've been frightening for the plane to see so many tugs wanting it out of there 😧 (But what a great farewell)
vMambaaa@reddit
Was this his proudest tug?
onethousandmonkey@reddit
A group of tugs is known as a tugline

Delta Tug 2 retired?
DRYGEOLOG@reddit
That was fantastic EHAM, greetings from LPPT
humanflea23@reddit
"And here we see the airplane, although large and mighty, is forced to retreat in the face of so many pushbacks."
Alone_Rang3r@reddit
The big plane was being mean to the little car, so the little car called all his little car friends and they chased the plane away.
IM_REFUELING@reddit
This looks very menacing and I like it
Ok_Reputation3298@reddit
Rare nature sighting of a herd of tug carts pushing back against a mighty jumbo jet.
TizzyBumblefluff@reddit
That’s so cool. Such an important job and team member.
workntohard@reddit
My nice side would say this driver was well liked to earn this show of respect.
GeneralEagle@reddit
💪🙏🏻thank you and everyone that works the ground for your service.
bestnicknameever@reddit
Somehow wholesome :)
huyvanbin@reddit
Would you rather fight one life-size aircraft tug or 100 roomba-size aircraft tugs?
Ok-Foundation1346@reddit
Very sweet thing to do. I do hope it wasn't distracting though.
booksandcoriander@reddit
Wow! I've been a flight attendant for 21 years, and never seen this! Thanks for sharing!
irascible_Clown@reddit
I don’t mind a delay as a passenger for this
opking@reddit
This video need “Yakkety Sax” something fierce 😜
KnowledgeSafe3160@reddit
Haha that is awesome
Python_07@reddit
Love it. 👍
Vau8@reddit
Let it roll, folks, scaring that plane away!
VampirePolwygle@reddit
That is so adorable, it is like a bunch of turtles going to the sea
ToeSniffer245@reddit
Now how much did this cost the airport?
hwhs04@reddit
probably equivalent to flying a kc-135 for a few minutes
old_righty@reddit
Tree fiddy
Dungeon_Crawler_Carl@reddit
15$ max.
Will-Ooo-Wisp@reddit
Boo
