Hugging a pillow while you sleep will help that. A lot of times a painful shoulder in the morning can be an agitated nerve around your spine and between your shoulder blades. The muscles tense to protect it and pull the muscles leading up to your shoulder/neck. Those tense up making the angle wrong for your shoulder/neck. Once it happens you need to stretch and take ibuprofen. A partner and a massage gun in the right areas can take care of it almost immediately.
A good stretch is to walk up to a wall, arm in front bent so your hand is going back to your shoulder, and gently pressing your elbow against the wall while moving towards the wall. It will open up the area and relieve some pain/tension. If you don't feel any relief then it could be a strain that is up higher or another issue. It takes time and good posture to fix this way. Add in ice for 15 minutes, then nothing for 15, then heat for 15.
I know this was likely a joke, but I'm sure someone will find this useful. Trial and error, youtube, and physical therapy have taught me all of this. Back issues suck.
I pulled something in my lower left back almost 15 years ago, working as a kids photographer. My dad tried to make me feel better about it by telling me he once hurt his back putting his pants on.
Last December my wife got me a treadmill for Christmas. I tried it out and that led to me getting proximal humeral head reconstructive surgery for my 50th birthday.
My bed will kick my ass at night sometimes. A few days ago I couldn’t turn my neck more then 1” to the right when I woke up.. Was fine when I went to bed.
This is it! I've never had any of these issues except for getting banged up from the exercising itself. Still playing competitive volleyball in my 40s. If there is one thing I recommend it is yoga.
But in general every aspect of my life is better when I'm getting regular exercise, especially outside. It's almost like we weren't made to spend most of our lives sitting at a desk under dismal florescent lighting.
Came here to extol the value of a proper full-body stretch routine daily. It's not inevitable for your body to be broken down in your forties. It's fairly easy to correct the worst part of it with the lightest of exercises.
It always reminds me of the cinematic masterpiece, Cool as Ice, featuring Robert Van Winkle in the leading role as a man in his 20s, cosplaying a mentally-challenged James Dean, stalking a recent high school graduate.
The music featured in this film, however, is an excellent snapshot of popular rave music of the late 80s and early 90s... minus the Vanilla Ice parts.
A lot of this is because most of us don't eat right and don't exercise. 20 additional pounds hurts. Exercise doesn't have to be strenuous, just get out there and walk a mile at least every other day. Do stuff on the weekends, just don't lay around on the couch.
Man, you aren't kidding. That's ok. You all know it's true in your heart of hearts. Get plenty of fiber, stay hydrated, and spend more time moving your bodies. Being in pain for weeks after tweaking your back in the shower when you went to wash your toes sucks.
Don't stop getting up off the floor! I read somewhere that once a person can't get up off the floor by themself without any handholds their chance of death raises quite a bit.
On second thought, maybe I should stop getting up off the floor and let the void take me,
Same. It's surreal to think that I'm now one of the slow walkers. I was out doing some grocery shopping and was struggling to move at my normal pace due to an aching ankle ligament. Gone are the days when injuries would heal fast and you could just walk about at full pace without even thinking about it. Now I'm super careful with every step least I trip over myself.
We installed cameras on our house a year ago. I was looking through the footage for something and saw myself messing with my plants and playing with my dog and I MOVE SO FUCKING SLOW. It was shocking to see. I broke my left foot in several places when I was 38 and it took over a year to heal and I still cannot stand to have it touched. I hate shoes or blankets or anything touching it. I think I started moving much slower then and just never stopped. I don’t feel slow.
I share your frustration. Foot injuries are just the worst. I used to be a very active hiker for years, but have been forced to slow down now. The worst part is that your mind is still pushing your body to go at full speed, but your body just won't let you. I mean, I'm still relatively active and walk a lot, but just not in the way that I've been used to doing for years. It's so frustrating.
all those falls and breaks have caught up with me. random stuff just locks up here and there. and oh the rain thing... i thought my dad was making that crap up. Joints are hurting, it's gonna rain... I believe it now.

Aches and pains in our body likely results from poor recovery after sudden increase of physical activity.
Correction your sleep, nutrition, induce autophagy and increase active calories then the body will self repair more efficiently.
Avoiding stressful people who don't lead to better financial income helps too.
