Receiver issue?
Anyone ever had this happen before? Went to go change out grips screw got stuck while removing then the head stripped off when I attempted using a drill to get the screw out. At a complete loss for what happened. First time changing out this grip

Probably have to drill it out (start from the inside with a drill that just fits the hole to help guide the drill straight). Then go bigger (a drill size for a 1/4-28 helicoil).

Yikes. My suggestion is the vice grips. Put your reciever in a vice with rubber pads, lock the vice grips down on that nub and attempt to rotate it out. If it won't budge, there are stuck screw removal bits, or just get a new reciever.

That looks like it is pulling threads out. You are going to need a helicol set from McMaster carr

If you have a dremel or a finger grinder (a flat file will work too), grind flats on 2 sides minimum and use a crescent to get it out. If it has loctite or you suspect it does, set it upside down and apply a few drops of acetone on and around the mating surfaces overnight to dissolve it before attempting to unscrew.

And if he thinks the threads are messed up he can redo them. I have had to do a couple of mine that were screwed up from the factory. Tap and die kit will make the threads new, its easy

Get some heat on it, go back and forth with vise-grips as mentioned. You could pay someone to extract it if you don't have the tools, but you very well may be just better off dropping the $50 and getting on with your life.

Probably what im gonna do may leave it around and mess with it later for a bullshit build if I want but gonna order a new lower and say forget about it

if its cross threaded, heli-coil is your friend.

Get a pair of vice grips to remove the screw stub. My guess is a bad screw instead of a bad receiver.

I've tried i need a vice to hold the receiver because its so stuck stripped it bare because I figured it was done for but ill give it a try again once I take it to a vice

That or it was cross threaded when installed.
