In theory no, it should work. In practice, the longer the gun the heavier it is. This sling isn't padded so it will not be comfortable long term with a heavier gun.

Mp5 have a ring mount on the upper these work good in. Smaller 'smg' tend to not have as much real-estate for qd points like ar15s

Great way to tie in to non-standard locations without using a QD that can be bumped open. I have had one on a gun for about 10 years now and it still works great, although I carry it slung pretty rarely aside from the 3 years I used it on my issued M4.

Some people prefer these over QDs because QDs can fail and become detached by bumping them on stuff. YMMV on the usage scenario.
