Hey, I’m currently living in Munich/Germany under a blue card permit
I was thinking to relocate, since I feel im not able to integrate into German culture, working and social wise.
I’m able to speak English/Arabic/Turkish fluently.
Things Im looking for are a good salary, safety, and low to moderate racism ( I’m Middle Eastern you know how it is!! )

What’s wrong with Turkey? Genuine question. I see lots of projects being outsourced there, probably a buzzing job market. With your foreign experience you could be a lead and if you do an MBA maybe even executive (head of development)

I lived there for 9 years, i really enjoyed it
I had few critical problems
Salaries are super low , and Istanbul became extremely expensive
Inflation is consistently high,Turkish Lira is free falling as always
traffic is unbearable
Racism towards my people was on another level

Are you willing to integrate anywhere?
mohammadmaleh@reddit (OP)
Yeah Im up for it
I don’t feel like I can learn a new languages perfectly at this of my life tho

Language is always going to be a big part of integration, especially if you come from a less similar culture.
Might make your choice a bit easier if you limit your search based on your current set of languages.

You’re correct
arktozc@reddit
Why you cant integrate? I would think about that first before moving elsewhere cause Germany already ticks all your boxes so it might be you problem as well.

The job market is extreme for English speakers, Im FE Dev with 10 YOE mid level, every company i worked with expects me to perform at senior level and low balling me on salary
and bavarians are super closed, I have only one friend to hangout with , I’ve been living here for 4 years, Im a very social person, forget about dating of course
Unusual-Context8482@reddit
That is the reality in all europe, idk what people expect. Be realistic.
mohammadmaleh@reddit (OP)
I know you’re totally correct, it’s just doesn’t fit me
arktozc@reddit
Sorry if I missunderstand you, but you were/are in Germany for 4 years and you didnt learn German language yet to some decent level? IF that is the case then your work towards integration is rather lightweight.
mohammadmaleh@reddit (OP)
Yeah I know, part of it is my fault
German is tough language, i can speak basic stuff but no where near professional level
Im at my mid 30s, my language learning abilities has dimmed to be honest
And I cant find a lot of time to learn, since the work load is so high and services are so expensive here, i have to cook, wash, clean, fix everything using my own hands
If you compare it to asian countries like Turkey (I lived there for long time ) or Malaysia , you can depend on cheap services to do the shores

Our economy isn't doing so great right now but Canada fits the bill and still pays software engineers much more than most of Europe does. We have lower salaries but a much better working culture and social safety net than the US does. We're proud of being multicultural and you won't encounter much overt racism outside of rural areas.

I think Canada is the most sensible option
Many thanks

Montpelier or maybe Nice. Also Geneva.
