"Bug" (the fire roach movie). I was probably 5 or 6 and was traumatized.

Double feature Missing in Action 2 and Rambo 2, don't remember what was first.

One of my earliest memories was all seven of us pulling into the station wagon. Two of my brothers and I sat in the back-back on the rumble seat, although I usually ended up on the floor. It was carpeted and Dad kept it clean so that was ok. Mom filled one of those big yellow Tupperware buckets with popcorn so we wouldn't have to buy any, and we saw a double feature. First was Herbie Goes Bananas and the second was a movie called No Deposit, No Return, which I didn't remember anything about. I was probably asleep on the floor by then.

UHF. Weird Als movie. I was the only one who got the "Badgers? We dont need no stinking badgers" joke. I laughed so hard and then laughed because I was the only one who got the joke I almost fell out of the lawn chair

The 1st one I remember is Raiders of the Lost Arc. I think we saw Empire Strikes Back before that, but I don't have many memories from before I was 5.

First, and only Drive In experience was Bedknobs And Broomsticks, and one of the Herbie movies. That was as a kid. By the time I became a teen and participate in drive-in theater shenanigans, that one closed down, and it was the only one reasonable close, as a teen. As an adult, there is one two towns over, and even my towns indoor cinema has gone (last film I saw there was American Pie), and I am not in a social state where "going to the show" is a thing.

I have an unfair advantage living in central Florida. We have a working drive-in showing digital movies less than 30 minutes from my house. I haven't been to it in a couple years, I don't go out to see movies in general anymore. The screen was destroyed by hurricane Milton but they were able to rebuild. Instead of wood poles, they now have metal poles that are storm rated because of donations made by the community to help them rebuild. So basically, if anyone is ever in the Tampa Bay area and wants to watch a drive-in movie head down to the Ruskin Family Drive-in and make sure you bring cash because they do not accept credit cards. Also, the snack bar is VERY reasonably priced. Might be the last place in the United States where a family of five can have a night of entertainment for $50 or under...

Soggy Bottom USA.  1981-ish?  The one and only time my dad took me to the movies. He didn’t disappear or anything.  He just didn’t care much for movies.  Couldn’t sit still long enough.  He’s passed now, age 53, back in 2003. I’m 50 now.  I’m correcting his behavior by loving watching movies, and even being in 1 or 2 as a film actor. Soggy Bottom USA.  What a throwback.
