Steel or bust
AmphibianEffective83@reddit
Chapman Industries has one currently. They are pricey for sure but look pretty slick.
ItsJustAnotherVoice@reddit
@$925.00
You might as well just buy a shadow 2 or another gun. Jesus.
AmphibianEffective83@reddit
That's for the titanium, the steel is about 500
razkalwp7@reddit
I know many folks swear by the aluminum grips but I can't stomach paying $250-$400 on a trip module. I'd rather buy another pistol with that money lol.
gun_runna@reddit
It’s more than half of the gun’s price. Fuck that.
skycake10@reddit
Isn't that part of the appeal of the modular grip though? It's only half the cost of the gun because the OEM grip is polymer. An OEM aluminum gripped gun is a lot more expensive. Obviously you can just get a different OEM aluminum gun in the first place but if you don't care about the modularity the RXM isn't for you anyway.
AwkwardSploosh@reddit
Idk, a P-01 is like $600. Idk if the value proposition is really here for this. The biggest draw for modularity would be a PCC chassis if one existed for this. I think a brass plug adds about the same amount of weight as the frame swap.
Antelope_Fluid@reddit
Swear by mine for the 365, but I did get for below sticker price and after the original macro frame had cracked. Only complaint I can have as a user is holster compatability, but that's on me for being a pussy about taking a heat gun to kydex.
Definitely wish they were cheaper though. As a buyer, price is definitely a hurdle.
Comfortable-Case-686@reddit
Why not both?
razkalwp7@reddit
In this economy!? I have a hard enough time justifying what I do spend.
Y1NGER@reddit
on things I need.
purgatorialhoss@reddit
Literally me
tyraywilson@reddit
Same
GasMonkey93@reddit
Is it just the fact that it's cheaper than an echelon? People seem to love the modular aspect of this but I don't see the same being said about Springfields option
External_Ad350@reddit
It's the fact it's a Glock gen 3 clone. Aftermarket is endless. Now that Glock discontinued gen 3 the RXMs popularity does seem to have gone up.
GasMonkey93@reddit
Fair point, I was thinking it was the FCU/COG whatever you want to call it. Didn't think of the built in support
azgunnit@reddit
It's hilarious that a completely modular glock close exists for only $300 and people want to complain about the price of stuff that takes advantage of that molecularity being "as much as the gun"
Like...yeah it's as much as the gun....but the gun is cheap so the margin between the base gun and premium parts is going to be much smaller.
Price with the gun and this module is still less than some basic bitch glock models sell for.
hilld12b@reddit
I just hate we don’t have anyone making poly frames yet…. I’m looking at you WC, that coupled with the fact you could get an sig in a 12,15,17 round and different dust cover lengths has me a little salty.
I’m also that guy that found a metal p365 grip mod locally for $100 less than what they were going for on Gafs at the time, and I paid even less than that for the 365 it went with. Things happen costs go up it is what it is, I’m definitely getting a Icarus grip for my RXM I hear very good things.
fourleggedpython@reddit
The polymer frames may take a while just cause I'd imagine molds for those may need more r&d than machine grip modules.
Definitely keeping my eye out for rxm deals on black Friday
hilld12b@reddit
No that’s rational thinking and I don’t like it, grips shoulda been available shortly after or on launch and that’s that lol.
I appreciate the insight and guess I didn’t really think about it like that.
AmphibianEffective83@reddit
That would have been a bigger risk for Ruger. Molds are extremely expensive and they needed to judge interest before dumping that much money (turns out the interest is through the roof as they've already sold over a million of them though). As far as the current delay it's my understanding that they are seeking NIJ certification on the other grips and that is delayed a wee bit, probably partly from the gov shutdown.
hilld12b@reddit
Again with the rational thinking stop it lol I just want to be upset at them for reasons
skycake10@reddit
Molds need both more R&D and a lot more sales to justify all the fixed costs. Machining aluminum or steel frames is a lot more feasible if you think you're only going to be selling a relatively small number of them.
fourleggedpython@reddit
Yep, only bigger shops like Magpul and maybe Wilson combat can shell out for molds. Maybe some mjf printed frames would be a good stop gap for medium sized shops
JOEYballsGOTTI@reddit
This is actually such a good point, you can get a RXM from one of the deals posted today, plus this frame, for $50 more than a new Gen 5 Glock 19 non-MOS.
Insane when you say it that way.
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
They would be crushing it if they beat Magpul to the 17 size frame
AmphibianEffective83@reddit
Add the magwell to this and it's 17 sized.
purgatorialhoss@reddit
Came here to say this. Diabetes made me pass out before hitting send.
Fiercekiller@reddit
Dia-BEAT-us to it
MSurpGaming@reddit (OP)
Icarus already did. It also takes reversible Gen 4 mag catches.
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
Nice!
GuardianTidus@reddit
I just picked up an RXM with threaded barrel. I really like the look of the Sharps Bros grip module with the cherry wood grips. I just wish it was a bit cheaper but alas such is life of guns.
MSurpGaming@reddit (OP)
Icarus version for $100 more.

Hisetic@reddit
That grip is as much as the damn pistol, lol.
mynameisnick4@reddit
As someone who's been shopping for a 2011 steel frame for my Mac 9DS, I know the feeling :(
clicktoseemyfetishes@reddit
Are the DS Tisas and Macs not steel frame and grip? Would definitely like some chonk
mynameisnick4@reddit
They are steel frame, polymer grip similar to Staccatos or the Springfield Prodigy. Gotta go aftermarket for metal grips.
dragon_sack@reddit
The optic usually costs more than the damn pistol too. The difference is the grip is more important than the optic.
crysisnotaverted@reddit
Welcome to the Ruger aftermarket. You should get into Mark IVs and 10/22's lol.
AA_Armament1@reddit
Lol the ramjet I got for it is more than the pistol.
CrunchBite319_Mk2@reddit
Damn, $450 and they couldn't even bother to include a picture of it
justjaybee16@reddit
I was fully prepared to shit on this, but damnit that is a good looking frame.
suchdankverymemes@reddit
Ah yes, "IMAGE COMING SOON" is my handgun aesthetic.
Had to Google it. Pretty cool grip though in all seriousness.
justjaybee16@reddit
Yeah, i had to do quick google, it's nice. I don't know if it's worth the cost of the gun, but it looks great.
JustHereForTheGuns@reddit
Steel frame. Pls. I need it.
SayNoTo-Communism@reddit
Chapman Industries “IronClad” for RXM is offered in Aluminum, Steel, or Titanium. Pricey though
purgatorialhoss@reddit
Where steel or tungsten
TheeDavidT@reddit
It’s as much as the pistol itself, lol. Just like optics
PapaNoffDeez@reddit
That's what happens when it's a cheap as fuck pistol
