Do all elderly Balkans just have great hair, or am I making an ignorant overgeneralization? My mother's family is Serbian, all the men had fabulous hair til the day they died. My dad's family is German, and all have huge bald spots in back. In the US I can't tell anymore because it seems everyone has hair transplants 🤷🏼‍♀️

Really depends. Some people have great hair, and others suffer from various degrees of baldness. I feel like the average middle-aged male here has somewhat of a receded hairline and no obvious bald spot on top, something like this (this is a random pic I found on the internet):

I wish, somehow my brother and I got the shit balding gene while the rest of my extended family and father have full heads of hair. I used to have beautiful thick long hair and started losing it 5 years ago. I’ve accepted my fate and just shave it bald and not look at the thinning of it
