Do you use Whatsapp to manage your work (may be small business) or daily tasks?

I was talking to my friend and realized many people here are using Whatsapp for way more than chatting to friends like
- Coordinating with people in small businesses like Homechefs, salons etc
- Managing daily tasks or grocery list etc
If so, how do you keep track of things like reminders, follow-ups, or group coordination?
Or do you prefer other tools (like Trello, Notion, Slack, etc.) for that kind of stuff?
I am genuinely curious how people in the UK use WhatsApp beyond chatting especially for keeping life and work organized?

I use Qordinate.ai, really boosts my productivity

hell no lol, WhatsApp gets messy fast if you try to run work through it. everything just disappears in chats and you’re scrolling forever trying to find stuff. it’s fine for quick messages but not for anything important. way easier to keep things in one place, we use zenzap for that so nothing gets lost.

I used to use WhatsApp for that kind of stuff and it works at the beginning, but it gets messy pretty fast. Once you mix tasks, reminders, and random chat in the same place, things just get buried and you forget follow ups. That’s what happened to us, so we moved away from it and started using zenzap since it keeps tasks and conversations together and feels way less chaotic than trying to manage everything in one chat.

I understand that, I started using this in whatsapp which helps with reminders across different timezones which helped me a lot

my company used to use WhatsApp Business for work stuff, and it worked at first, but people started getting fed up with constant notifications and messages coming in outside of work hours. We ended up switching to Zenzap, which is strictly for work, and being able to set business hours helped a lot so people aren’t getting pinged about tasks or updates when they’re off the clock.

Yes I agree, people might get frustrated sometimes but what if they get some timely reminders based on their timezone. Do you think it will be useful for you ?
CapucchinoTyler@reddit
Yeah, as long as the reminders respect business hours and time zones, that’s the key. Timely is fine, constant isn’t, that balance is why Zenzap worked lots better for us than WhatsApp.

Yes I understand, I had the same issue where I need to send a message and it would be different time for them. Then TodoBuddy helped me, it's an AI powered whatsapp assistant which helps SMB owners or individuals with custom reminders of any events, tasks, appointments, shopping list etc. in natural language by text, talk or snap. and best thing is it works across different timezones so they get messages in their mornings

its owned by meta so never installing it

I have a dog walking and pet care business. I use it to communicate with all my staff and clients; they can’t claim they didn’t see a message on WhatsApp when I can see that they did.

This is exactly why I turn off read receipts.

I keep them on for my personal phone but on the work one they're off.

Interesting to see some people actually use WhatsApp for organising stuff.
I noticed something similar while chatting with others a lot of people have started using small chat-based helpers like TodoBuddy that turn messages into quick reminders or notes.
It’s funny how WhatsApp’s becoming more of an all-purpose tool than just messaging

Nah we use Teams for work. Whatsapp is only for family and friends and the various groups I'm in
knightsbridge-@reddit
The only thing I use WhatsApp for is talking to older relatives who use it as their main messaging service.
I talk to my friends on Discord.
My husband and I have a shared Google calendar for life stuff, and otherwise we just... Talk to each other. With our mouths.
Commercial_Carob_977@reddit
Its definitely both for personal and business these days. Most task apps like Briefmatic, Trello etc connect with WA now so you can just send work messages straight to your todo list and just manage personal chats directly in WA.

Interesting to know
imtheorangeycenter@reddit
Teams for Work WhatsApp for pub shouts, family chat etc
Ne'er the two shall mix on one platform.
Might as well get Aunt Mable on Jira if you do that. Enjoy.
Otherwise_Koala4289@reddit
No, I just use it for chatting to friends and family.
We do have a couple of work WhatsApp groups, but those are just there for if you need to communicate when you're not on your work laptop.
But broadly, work stuff is something I do on my work laptop. When that's closed, I'm disconnected from work.
I don't use WhatsApp for managing daily tasks. I don't even know how I would use it for that. As far as I'm concerned, it's just a messaging app.
syphonuk@reddit
I have a separate phone for work that I have Whatsapp on. Used to use it a lot for quick comms with colleagues, especially since I used to spend at least a day a week at industry events and didn't always have my laptop in front of me. The Teams phone app has replaced it for the most part now as it's synced across all devices and I don't need someone to be watching their phone to respond to a message,
For work management, we have really struggled to find something that works for the different teams and is adoptable at scale. There's a real mix of software and tools being used but I can safely say that Whatsapp was never one of them.
peppermint_aero@reddit
Absolutely not. I like to keep work and personal separate.
non-hyphenated_@reddit
I use it for my business if I need quick communication with a group.
Mean_Pause_1508@reddit
I just dump stuff onto my own chat on there. Talk to dog walker on there. Tend to use notes for more concrete stuff.
