Me drinking my colonoscopy prep

I took the Sutab last week. I mean the effects aren’t pleasant but there is really no way to get to that goal in a pleasant way. I was waaay to cavalier in the morning and ended up with nausea.

Yeah, you have to drink a ton of water before, during, and after taking all those pills. And you’re right, there’s no pleasant way of cleaning out your colon.

Oh rather than sipping I probably took all the pills and two thirds the water in five minutes and barfed like a freshman lien ten minutes later. I was not thinking that being already at the target of output my system was empty and a bit reactive. It was my first time so maybe at 55 I will be more cautious lol

No matter what people say about Miralax not tasting like anything and how it’s so much easier, it’s lies. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, makes this prep not disgusting. I can’t even look at Gatorade anymore. It makes me gag thinking about it.

Mixed mine with Gatorade last week. I don't drink Gatorade much anyway, so it wasn't a problem. However, trying to chug 32 ounces of Gatorade at 1:30am so I could finish up 6 hours prior to registration wasn't fun.

I did my second dose at 2 am the morning of my procedure and it took two hours for it to kick in!! I'm surprised i even had anything left after the first dose which was taken at around 6pm that night.

Not true for me. I used the cherry Arctic blast and couldn’t distinguish the taste between the stuff with Miralax in it and regular Gatorade. It was downright pleasant to drink.

Now, the rest of the day? Not so pleasant.

Actually when I had my first colonoscopy back in 21 the prep wasn't that bad...this most recent procedure however was a different story yuck!!

Don't even get me started on just how awful my prep was a few weeks ago....I swear it was like drinking a cup of salt water and even after diluting it with white grape juice it didn't help one bit.

Drinking the first dose at room temperature was even worse, fortunately I'd let the second dose chill in the fridge but that still didn't make it much easier to take.

I got a new prep last time. Its just one huge jug you fill with water and drink over time. Didn't taste that bad. Was the shit avalanche that's awful.

Yeah, the ones that come with are awful. You can substitute most drink flavoring powders as long as they dissolve completely translucent in water and don't have red food coloring.

Also most doctors won't tell you this but you can eat gummy bears as long as you void the red ones. Having something to chew is a godsend.

Ah, you must have gotten the salty slime kind. The other stuff is a lot more tolerable but it costs more so a lot of insurances won't spring for it.

It might help to drink it out of something with a lid and straw. The less you have to smell it and taste it the better.

My doctor suggested cologuard, so that’s what I did.
