Kerosene heater

I have a dyna glo convection heater i use in my garage at times. I was looking to see if anyone uses a heat powered fireplace fan on top of them for extra circulation.

I built a large sheet metal conical hat and mounted it to a short metal pole to help disperse heat versus it blasting straight up. Helped a bit having a regular desk fan circulating the warmer air around the shop as well. Never went your route though, so I'm interested to see what others have to say.

Can you post a picture of your comical hat?

catch the heat that is being lost and not properly distributed >>> those kinetic fans are only plastic and won't last long in the direct heat flow

The fans I know of are all metal.

This one just came today and has aluminum blades. Will be trying it out soon on both my kerosene heater and wood burn stove.

Good! Please let us know how it goes.

Again, it has all aluminum blades on it. It did not move as much air as i thought but was use to an electric fan. For not needing a plug and being almost silent, its not a horrible fan at all. More than likely, will be ordering more soon.

If SHTF, there will be plenty of things to burn...

Yes but they do wear out.
I've also just used a ceiling fan. I have one that has a USB plug and can plug into a solar panel.

Yep, I got one of those cheap wood stove fans from Amazon and set it on my kerosene heater and it works great. It's in my garage workshop and there's definitely a huge difference with the fan even though it's so small.

Yes, I have the exact same setup and it works well. Keep an eye on it though, I melted the first one by mounting it on the side of the heater and not on top.
