Grandpa straight spittin' truth
Lucky_Louch@reddit
I still do, and don't care who knows it.
Quinalla@reddit
Yes, I still have mine too and I still play music from them in the car - that dvd/Blu-ray player in my minivan plays cds just fine.
Difficult_Good_128@reddit
Still got mine in a drawer collecting dust. Never getting rid of it. I look thru it every couple years. Ill find a cd I haven't listened to in ages and it brings back good memories.
Thatdewd57@reddit
This is how our generation learned to multitask while driving.
railmanmatt@reddit (OP)
Right?
dufflebag7@reddit
My buddy had a CD book in his car. One day, someone broke in and stole about half of his CDs, even tho it would’ve been faster to just take the whole thing. We joked that “not only did he rob you, he also judged your taste in music”.
railmanmatt@reddit (OP)
Ah! That sucks.
RoyalPuzzleheaded259@reddit
Kept? I still have a binder of CDs in my truck.
minx_the_tiger@reddit
I still have three of them...
Mountain-Fox-2123@reddit
I still do that.
BecauseImGod@reddit
What do you mean "kept"? My cd cases has rust on the zippers they are so old.
AncientHorror3034@reddit
I’ve got mine in the living room
the_well_read_neck_@reddit
I still have my cd book from high school. I recently switched jobs and instead of a half hour drive, I have about a 6 min drive. Thank God I drive an 07 car that has a cd player. Its not worth the time to hook up bluetooth. Its been fun going through all my old cds.
MaestroLogical@reddit
I still have my car visor CD holder full of relics.
Comfortable-Pea-1312@reddit
Still do, just not in the car.
latina-spice@reddit
My Caselogic has been with me, and will always be in my glovebox!
RumpleDumple@reddit
I saw a stand up comic a few years ago work shopping a joke about a Case Logic and no one knew what he was talking about. I looked it up after and was like "ooooh! A CD binder!". (I don't remember what we called them)
latina-spice@reddit
Awww I would have gotten it! I think we called it a flip case
latina-spice@reddit
Cd binder definitely works too!
railmanmatt@reddit (OP)
My daughter has mine, with all my CDs in it. I'm a proud Pappa.
Comfortable-Pea-1312@reddit
I make mine sign them out like the library. 🤣 Thank the heavens, the kid got taste!
Reasonable-Wave8093@reddit
we actually burned every cd and they can “borrow” the copy🙌😋
moejike@reddit
I've got my kids rockin on classic iPods.

railmanmatt@reddit (OP)
Yup!
Crans10@reddit
I did then they all got stolen at once. So many important cds I had every nirvana impost cd. I still own the cases.
railmanmatt@reddit (OP)
Oof. That sucks.
OkTemperature8080@reddit
And they were all burned and unlabeled
Allaplgy@reddit
I used to DJ. When I started using CDJs, I'd burn discs of the tracks I downloaded from Beatport, making two copies of each. Then I'd draw some random symbol or something on them, in matching pairs. It was basically a vestige of my vinyl days, where I identified tracks by the sleeve or label art more than names. Was easier for me to think "Track 5 on the one with stars" or "Track three on the one with a spiral" than to scan lists of titles or something.
bahaki@reddit
That shark tooth necklace is too accurate.
Acceptingoptimist@reddit
I can hear Gin Blossoms on the radio...
ryhoyarbie@reddit
eulynn34@reddit
Still do, but it's one of those 500 disc beasts and it sits on a bookcase
railmanmatt@reddit (OP)
Ice!
chriszimort@reddit
And when we bought a cd we listened till the whole thing. And read the lyrics in the liner notes. And we liked it!
Spartan04@reddit
I had a CD wallet but I actually almost never took it in the car (still have it actually but it mostly sits in the closet since I ripped all the music to digital).
The car I drove in my teens and early 20s had a tape deck and I had a tape adapter but I only bothered with bringing my CD player for long drives. Otherwise I just listened to the radio or one of the few cassettes I still had that I kept in the car. Then I got a minidisc player and that was much better for using in the car.
By the time I owned a car with a built in CD player in my mid 20s they had advanced and it could read MP3 discs so no need for a bunch of CDs.
moejike@reddit
Literally sitting next to mine right now.
