$301 shipped for an ST Enclosed
krankwok@reddit
Simmons has the Defender ST enclosed for $249 and I believe they don't charge tax or shipping.
bgarza18@reddit
I don’t see that price, I see $309
RobinHoodsGatsby@reddit
Solar is $250 but out of stock sadly

elevenoneone@reddit
This is the CCW and not the ST. Different sizes.
RobinHoodsGatsby@reddit
gotcha, i may have missed the original comment clarifying which was which, the ST is $301, CCW is $250
sneekypoo@reddit
Did you need to email for that price?
CrashCarSuperstar@reddit
Doesnt work on Razor GIII optics in black. You can only get the discount on that gross ass bronze color.
nope_noway_@reddit
Color is one of the best things about the razor
dubrubber@reddit
Was looking for a LVPO, is the Viper PST II still a good pick?
nope_noway_@reddit
Yes, still one of the best minus the weight. They can regularly be picked up for around $400 shipped in excellent condition on TacSwap.
Delta Stryker is probably next in line for around $600ish
dubrubber@reddit
1-6x
Round_Dig9686@reddit
Wish it worked for the ebr-7 razor 1-6
MDData@reddit
I cannot stress enough how great of an optic this is. Might only be a 6x top end but as someone who owns or has previously owned everything from the S&B dual cc 1-8 to the svps atacr, for a 14.5-16" carbine this thing is the tits. People who have had illumination die mid match don't realize how awesome it is to have a nice easy to spot 2FP reticle like this one, absolutely rocks BUT you have to play with your zero and adjust accordingly for the bdc (and remember the altitude on these things was calculated at like 2500 feet or something like that, if you use sea level in JBM your data is going to be off)
Al_Misurata@reddit
Do you have any more info/sources on figuring out a good zero with the BDC? I hadn't heard about the altitude thing.
I've heard that it's for 62gr M855A1 out of a 14.5, and the BDC is in meters.
So some people say if you just treat it like it's in yards, it lines up pretty well for 55grain out of a 16/14.5in
MDData@reddit
So the best way to line everything up short of truing it on the range is just to use a ballistic calculator to get your starting point. What I mean by that is take the drops in the reticle:
300m - 0.8 mils
400m - 1.8 mils
500m - 3 mils
600m - 4.5 mils
Now you take the load you plan to shoot, preferably after you've run it out of the gun you plan to mount the optic on over a chronograph (there can be a shitload of variation for the same round out of different barrels even with ammo from the same lot, you'd be surprised). You take the ballistic coefficient of the projectile, combine it with the speed, the atmospherics + elevation of the area you're in and now run it through JBM.
Since you mentioned 55 grain (presumably m193 ball, btw this choice is going to suck because of how bad the BC is but we can probably even get this to work reasonably ok, about to find out because I'm doing this as I write the post) Now we'll plug it in and see what the results are:
1.54 assumed mount height for a 2.74 height over bore, m193 assuming 2990 FPS out of a 16"
For a 100m zero with 193 ball at sea level today's temps in my area you end up with 1.3, 2.6, 4.2 and 6.5 mils respectively.
Now we adjust the parameters of the zero to determine what's going to be most effective for us. Keep in mind with a lightweight, low BC projectile like M193 trying to make hits out to 600 is not exactly going to make a ton of a sense so you may as well throw that one out the window.
To keep this simple we can either: adjust mount height (if you have different mounts, i.e. a 1.93 will have a different arc that a 1.54) adjust zero offset (i.e. zero 1" high, how you zero the SVPS atacr for example), or adjust zero distance.
First let's just adjust our zero distance from 100m to 36m and see what we get:
0.5, 1.8, 3.4
What does this mean? Basically you'll be within 6-8 inches at any of the distances the BDC is at out to 500, a little high at 300, dead on at 400 and a little low at 500. For combat accuracy with a BDC I could live with this using a suboptimal projectile.
Another approach would be to zero it at your maximum point blank range, what this means is that you can just hold straight on with the reticle for combat accuracy out to something like 300 meters and then hold over. With the parameters we already punched in the maximum point blank zero is 265m and that gets us:
300m -0.3
400m -1.6
500m - 3.2
This is probably closer to what I would do if I had to run m193, you're mostly going to be holding dead on for center mass and then your holds and 400 and 500 are so close that you really don't need to hold any different. For IPSC steel or something like that this is more than adequate and realistically you aren't making precision shots at distance with an LPVO, let alone with ball ammo.
Hope this was helpful!
Al_Misurata@reddit
Wow, thanks for the detailed reply! That is super helpful.
That makes sense now how you can use the actual mil values from the reticle sub-tensions to do more precise calculations.
I haven't ascended to that level of precision/long range ability yet. Hopefully I'll be able to take some 77grain out to a 500-700 yard range soon and make some DOPE charts.
Round_Dig9686@reddit
I had the JM-1 and I miss it but this would be a nice upgrade
PauIAIlensCard@reddit
Focuscamera will have them on sale for 1k if not already.
Round_Dig9686@reddit
I don’t think focus carries this version
DeepfriedCrustyAnus@reddit
BIN for gen 3 6-36 or a wait until Black Friday?
_flavoracid@reddit
That's how I feel abt everything rn... just trying to keep it in my pants for BF sales.
Electric_Sal@reddit
What's a budget friendly Vortex MPVO in FFP MIL for around $600 for Sig MCX Spear 308? Was leaning towards PA SLX 4-16 but I have enough PAs.
iratethisa@reddit
It showed free shipping until I used the code and then that was no longer a option and it cost $17
thrashedandtrashed@reddit
I swear the 1-6 Razor MRAD was 1199.99 a couple days ago…
Spirited-Database-12@reddit
$450 for a UH1. Meh.
FlyingYankee118@reddit
Really meh
sleepyoverlord@reddit
Optics planet has a 13% off code THANKU. I threw the UH-1 holo in my cart on both sites and opticsplanet came out to $20 cheaper than this site.
hitemlow@reddit
Looks like they have the 1-8x FFP Strike Eagle for $25 less than Focus Camera was selling it for... but without the mount.
Jeters556@reddit
Vortex “MSRP” prices are ridiculous.
Bradyrulez@reddit
I kinda feel like part of it is that "look at what a great deal you're getting!" sales tactic.
Jeters556@reddit
Of course, uneducated buyers get mislead into thinking it’s a legit sale and it’s not.
PewPew247365@reddit
Mehhh
Scheels still has the defender xl for $250 compared to their price of 299 if the coupon works at euro optic.

DLmn227@reddit
The coupon takes $62.25 off the listed price of 249.
Fluffy_Log7660@reddit
Where is it listed for $249?
Callas951@reddit
He's probably looking at the Defender ST
DLmn227@reddit
You are totally right. My bad.
MDData@reddit
Looks like the 4-24 razor is excluded
PauIAIlensCard@reddit
Yeah just called them and it is. They can get a few hundo off, but the need to charge the sales tax so a wash.
JustHereForTheGuns@reddit
How many hundo off? If you live in a NOMAD state, or have a buddy that does, that may be worth it.
PauIAIlensCard@reddit
Call them. Don’t want to get them in trouble with MAP stuff.
Material-Instance646@reddit
Is 1124.25 BIN for razor 1-6 Gen IIE
D3VIUM@reddit
I got that on focuscamera earlier this year for 999
Material-Instance646@reddit
MRAD?
D3VIUM@reddit
Yeah, it was Vortex Razor HD Gen II-E 1-6x24 Riflescope (VMR-2 MRAD Reticle)
Material-Instance646@reddit
ok, nice. Might swing on this anyway- not too far off.

No. Commonly 999.00 new
