Electric Bike Company has closed its doors and gone bankrupt. Any ideas where my friend can get his Model S that won’t charge worked on?

I bought this last month and plan to make my own post with lots of details but I have a battery related question and hope you don't mind me piggybacking to ask: Could I have damaged my bike by charging it with the retractable power cord while the power switch was turned on? It's indicator is green after being red while charging, but nothing happens when I try to power up the control display, it's dead? Looks like all connectors are attached.

Have you removed the battery and then reinserted it? You'll need to use the key to remove it. It should chirp when you reinsert.

CA E-BIKES is doing tons of work on EBC bikes since they went bankrupt. He’s in HB, 562-356-8016. He helped my friend get a new charger for his Model C. Hope this helps.

This guy is doing a lot of Electric Bike Company repair work now. My friend in question with the Model S just dropped his bike off there this week. Give him a shout.

I bought from them. Nasty people. Nasty customer service. Although I still have the bike couldn’t happen to nicer people.

Electric Bike Company used MXUS brand motors. I’d recommend working with an independent Ebike shop that carries that brand eg California Ebike sell an MXUS kit together with a KT controller and battery and compatible wiring harness connectors. I had good service with my Bafang kit with California E-bikes original owners, it’s recently changes owners a couple of times but would still recommend giving them a call.

Thank you for your help. This is the kind of information I was hoping I could forward to him.

Contact the company handling the bankruptcy. They may have recommendations on where to find parts and service. My e-bike company went bankrupt due to tariffs, and the owner worked with overseas suppliers to provide bike parts for customers. Parts cost more due to shipping, but at least I can get them.

Thank you for your reply.

It’s more of a DIY. I know a lot of shops won’t touch something you didn’t buy there.

omg that sucks!! so many of these companies pop up and then vanish before you can get support. maybe a general ebike repair shop could help even if they didn't make it? worth calling around.
