Exhaust ideas?

Trying to decide the best way to run my exhaust. Dual 3", black widow venom 300s under the cab. Is it worth running an x pipe after the mufflers? And I'm still trying to decide on exiting through the sides of the bed, or out the back. Suspension travel limits my options.

Side exit boom tubes is what I would say were it not bagged.

Id run it out the back, maybe use oval piping over the axle, or full oval. Keep clearance and it sounds cool.. Beautiful truck!

It's dual 3", to go out the rear I'll have to go to the outside of the chassis and squeeze between the wheel and notch, which is the plan so far.

If ya can’t go under it, gotta go over it - Stacks baby! But seriously don’t cut the box sides, it would look cool though. Did an S10 years ago came up into the box and then through the roll pan in the center with a single tip. Buddy did an F100 where the frame rails at the back became the exhaust pipes-looked so clean, no mufflers wasn’t really as loud as you would expect it to be.

I tossed around getting a factory bumper and flipping it and coming out center exit below what would be the ball mount/step.

I really like that idea, I have always liked roll pans/no bumpers or when the bumpers are cleaned up and sucked right in tight to the body.

put in a stack out behind the cab with a flap cap on top
Froginabout@reddit
Yes. Please put a muffler on your cool truck. I'd go with side pipes.

I've got mufflers under the cab, just trying to decide the best exit for it.

Looking again, you've got to cut somewhere or go out the back. Side pipes would interfere with that awesome slam action. So, do you like the semi tractor look or more sporty? I think twin pipes out the back but not protruding. They should look like business is being taken care of.
mefellas@reddit (OP)
I'm thinking out the back, or slash cut through the bedsides.
MNIMWIUTBAS@reddit
please X pipe, true duals sound like garbage.
mefellas@reddit (OP)
I like the sound of the duals, but I haven't heard one with an x pipe after the mufflers yet. Didn't know if it would still change up the tone.
Bright_Crazy1015@reddit
After the muffler? Why? You can cross whenever, and it only helps performance pretty much right off the collector, assuming it actually does, sometimes it's only about the exhaust sound and has no additional power, but it's not typically done after the muffler.
You can get a 2 into 1 muffler if you want, like the 4th Gen Camaro's, but personally I would go header to H pipe, to side exit with cutouts for a Flow 40 vs open pipes. (Tuned open pipes not some loud for nothing BS)

I already have the mufflers in place under the truck. With the cab on and how low it sits when aired out there was no room for an x-pipe before. I'm only interested in adding it if it'll improve the tone, but honestly it sounds good the way it is. I just want the exhaust out of the bed, either through the rear, or a spot in the bedside.

I thought this was a toy car at first.

bosozoku or bust

Vertical semi truck stacks, trimmed to the right height

Always X-pipe
DarkMatterSoup@reddit
Where we’re goin, we don’t need exhaust. Hahaha but yes side pipes would be great

Your able to sneak it front of the rear tires?
mefellas@reddit (OP)
That's a possibility.
BiggTex54@reddit
Catfish Camaro tips exit out the bed/cab gap.

What size wheels are those? Curious since I have a 58 Apache as well and am looking to get wheels on order soon.
mefellas@reddit (OP)
20x8 and 20x11 Detroit steel wheels.
Low-TechGlobal@reddit
I think it looks cool exiting through the sides of the bed in front of the rear wheels
mefellas@reddit (OP)
We were thinking of that but possibly behind the rear wheels.
i-like-to@reddit
I’m against cutting up old metal so I say out the back/ axel dump but out the bed would look pretty good
mefellas@reddit (OP)
I'm torn, but we've talked about a slash cut exit in the back side of the bed. I don't want to dump under the bed, as it's pretty loud currently and I'd like to be able to add a radio lol.

Side pipe with a cutoff switch to straight pipe
