Those of us that have reached higher levels of enlightenment are aware that 99% of what these lights do is provide holster retention and muzzle weight. Near as I can figure, my two Braun's do this in exactly the same way that my multiple TLR-1s do.

Well, the surefire looks cool so there is also that. But 3 of my SF needed to be RMA'd over the years, so I stopped drinking the Kool aid that they are more bombproof than other brands out there.

One comparison review of the two lights on YouTube indicated the size is a little different between the two and holsters may not be compatible with the Harbor freight light. One detail that I recall is the mount size is different.

I have a s&w m&p holster by trex, with the streamlight it's perfect, with the Braun, I needed to adjust the retention screws. Works fine though

The PID is a solid flashlight, but it's harder to find a holster for it. That's the main reason for me, though I also prefer the Braun/Streamlight controls.

i like mine. keys don't fit a tlr-1 since the corners are less rounded and are like a square fitting into a rounded square, but tlr-1 keys work in the braun.

my real tlr-1 is the old 350 lumen one so this is at least brighter and fits my omnivore

I grabbed one for funsies and took a couple garage shots next to my other WMLs and Handhelds. Want to note that the way it performs in a dark garage isn’t the whole story and isn’t indicative of performance — candela, performance with ambient lighting, photonic barriers, etc are all very important.

So far it seems… fine? Didn’t expect it to come with batteries, so that’s cool. It feels the same quality Streamlight feels. I don’t like the Streamlight UI, but it’s still fun to compare. I haven’t gotten a chance to take it into the woods at night and get a true comparison yet but those garage shots look alright. At this point, I’d rather have this HF light over an Olight.

Bought one, wobbled like a peg legged drunk, returned and got a Holosun PID from Simmons for $80, much better IMO. I wanted to like the Braun but once I realized I could push the light and it would turn itself off self off and that 3x switch cycles makes it stuck on strobe I was disappointed, but it is harbor freight not harbor great.
