I have no idea why someone wouldn’t go with a Framework or even Dell or Lenovo these days.

Exact thing I was going to post. Framework 13 fits in this price range exactly and that's with new Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU which is no slouch. Only issue with this machine I had was WIFI refusing to go to sleep, which was solved once Debian got newer kernel released. Ever since, not a single problem and power consumption is awesome. Am still not use to idea my laptop giving me 10h+ on battery power.

I read a lot about sub-par battery, which is holding me back - that and the non-existing need for a laptop 😂 While I agree the FWs are nice machines R2R and upgradeability cannot justify really bad battery times... I'd probably upgrade more often, thus going against the original goal. Unless maybe: that's FWs whole idea, to get you to upgrade more often, BCS you can ...

Must be a fromework thing because the AI 7 350 is literally the direct competitor to Intels Lunar Lake but...without the crippled multi core performance

Yeah, I thought U have a framework? Probably misunderstood 😂😂

I like System76, I really do, but not so much for their actual hardware. The laptops are generally either Clevo or TongFang made and both's QC is questionable at best. I know System76 adds their own flair and stuff to it, but it is the bones of the system that is the concern.
