C’mon now … how many of you used your calculators like badges? Walked around the house saying “MathmanMathmanMathman….”?

Square One and Ghostwriter, my two favorites! 🥰🥰🥰
MacStainless@reddit
Ghostwriter was amazing. Should be its own post in here. I never told anyone I watched it because I was 14 and felt people would make fun of me for loving a “kids show”.
driventhin@reddit
Oh me too! I had to be 8 when I watched square one so I was about 13 watching Ghostwriter and I didn’t care what anyone thought! 🤣 My own mother used to watch Ghostwriter and Are You Afraid of the Dark back in the day and she was well over 40 then! 🤣🤣🤣

🎵 That’s infinity… it goes on forever, they’ll always be one more, that’s infinity, count from dust to dawn. You never reach infinity you’ll just go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on…. 🎵

Needed that dopamine for later, but fuck, it was awesome!

Math nerd checking in! Absolutely LOVED this show.
The episode of Mathnet with George appearing to get crushed in a car still haunts me to this day.
ken830@reddit
Loved Square One and Mathnet. Tried to find all of them for my kids, but still missing a bunch. Wish I could pay money to buy them.
XIENVYIX@reddit
Nice, I was just speaking with a friend about Square One, a few weeks ago. Before that, I had thought about it for decades.

Came here for Mathman. Thank you

I loved the songs most... "Angle Dance," "9,9,9", "8% of My Love," and the immortal "One Billion" feat. The Fat Boys.

Nine, nine, nine, fantastic number nine!
moonbunnychan@reddit
I got a kind of weird existential horror from Mathman segments.
sick_of-it-all@reddit
I know what you mean. I think it was the combination of the way he moved and what he sounded like. He looked like Pac-Man, but not quite like him. It was all wrong in ways you couldn’t quite explain as a kid.
Rivster79@reddit
Why does something like this not exist today? A kids educational variety show?
PhatBoyFlim@reddit (OP)
Because no one watches TV anymore, and the returns on YouTube are low unless it win the lottery.
Spartan04@reddit
For a while my after school viewing was Carmen Sandiego and then this right after that.
Mathnet was one of my favorite segments.
sick_of-it-all@reddit
With the Pac-Man cartoon that would go “MATH MAN. MATH MAN.”
AndyVanSlyke@reddit
I really wanted to grow up and solve crimes using middle school level math. Was not to be
maggie320@reddit
I never watched much of Square One, but if I was flipping through the channels and Mathnet was on I was watching it.
RoyalZeal@reddit
YASSSSSS that was my jam as well
PhatBoyFlim@reddit (OP)
Yessss.
MacStainless@reddit
It goes on and on and on and on and on…..
bascule@reddit
It was always great when Mathman actually defeated Mr. Glitch and one a free game
bgva@reddit
The show that taught me that multiplying by zero will give you zero.
Was much older when I realized that's the late Reg E. Cathey who looks at the camera and falls backwards. Man had some range as an actor.
thotuthot@reddit
I LOVED Square One TV! Mathnet overlapping with Tom Hanks & Dan Akroyd's Dragnet was peak Xennial

I grew up on Square One, 3-2-1 Contact, and Mr. Wizard. Now I’m raising a son of my own, and I can’t seem to find any good, educational STEM shows like this for him.
SpotISAGoodCat@reddit
I grew up in Ohio and became a Michigan fan because of this show.

Very early memory for me, this intro song. It’s come to me randomly, out of nowhere, for my entire adult life. It’s pretty special to me, thanks for posting it.
ovenmit_@reddit
sometimes when i need to say something with two syllables i’ll sing it to this melody.
“ROAST BEEF”
“SNARE DRUM”
“LAST ONE”

That’s adorable.

I'm still scared of "Ghost of a Chance"

I used to look forward to coming home from school because right after it let out this absolute gem would air. Banger of a show, actually educational and still entertaining.

I loved this show so much. We used to watch it in math and that was always my favorite part of that class lol.
killervirgo@reddit
Mathnet was my favorite. This show came on after Where In The World Is Carmen San Diego?
brokenman82@reddit
I loved it. Watched it every day after school. It did not rub off on me because I’m terrible at math
Narrow_Grapefruit_23@reddit
I watched this excitedly, every day like the math and science nerd inside urged me to be.
NachoNachoDan@reddit
This and 3 2 1 Contact were my favorite block of programming.
Narrow_Grapefruit_23@reddit
Yes!!!! We also had a weird show with a witch in the forest who took items, put them into a machine and spit out a new story book. Lol!
BrattyTwilis@reddit
Our 3rd grade teacher made us watch this. Really creative at the time. It actually made math fun
