The first time I saw it in person was April ‘97. I was a college freshman and the honors program took a trip to NYC to see a couple broadway shows and visit the Met. When we got to our hotel in NJ the first night, the weinermobile was in the parking lot.
Good memory. :)

Saw it just last weekend!

Yup. Was in front of me driving home one day in the last 90's or early 2000's. Thing was going like 80mph.

I caught a glimpse of it in the Detroit area with my family in the summer of ’99. We were in a cab to the airport and our driver was really excited to see it on the highway, got us to check it out.

They stay at the hotel in my neighborhood twice a year for some reason. I think the guy said there’s a handful of them and they all have sections of the country they tour.
If you catch the driver they’ll give you one of those whistles.

I knew someone would get a yo mama joke or comment in there.

Saw one on Fort Gillem in Ga just outside Atlanta. It was just kinda hanging out in the super empty commisary/PX parking lot midweek.
I got a weenie whistle and some postcards from the driver.

There should be more novelty corporate automobiles driving along the roadways!
Deep-Interest9947@reddit
I saw it at a the airport in Madison, WI circa 2004.

I randomly saw it at a trailhead in Albuquerque, NM about 10-15 years ago when I was out mountain biking. I took a couple pics but they've disappeared into a sea of random hard drive backups, lol.

Yes!
ScuderiaSteve@reddit
They raced those around IMS on Carb Day this year
GrungeCheap56119@reddit (OP)
Hahah! Amazing
ScuderiaSteve@reddit
here's the full race!

Had one randomly parked in our neighborhood a while back at a neighbor’s house. After asking some questions as to how one gets the Weinermobile to visit you directly, all you have to do is have your adult child be the Oscar Mayer ambassador that gets to drive the thing around the country for a job. Seems like a pretty fun gig, if you can get it.

I've seen it in person. I looked inside and the seats have little colorful hot dogs on the upholstery 🤣🌭

I remember having the whistle shaped like the truck.

I remember, not too long ago, they were taking applications for drivers. Apparently, a college degree is a requirement.
SO BECAUSE I WASNT GOOD ENOUGH FOR COLLEGE, I CANT DRIVE A GIANT WIENER???

One of them was stored just off the highway near St. Louis, MO, so I passed it nearly every day for years.
I also read Dog Days: A Year in the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile by Dave Ihlenfeld, which is a memoir about his time as a "Hotdogger" after college.

Yes! This or Michael Keaton's Batmobile is my dream car. I bet you get hop ons.

It’s regularly around the local college campus where I live - they recruit marketing majors to drive it IIRC

Not only have I seen the wiener mobile in person, I’ve seen the planters peanut mobile too!
GrungeCheap56119@reddit (OP)
I didn't know there was a peanut one!
