ULPT How do I believably make a 300 dollar monitor stop working?

My parents recently got this big monitor for me, which would be cool if they weren't using it only to watch me whenever I use a computer. I'm fed up with it, and I want to know how to get it to stop working and how to get them to believe I didn't do it.

How are they watching you? This doesn’t make sense to me. Are they looking over your shoulder or something?

Some monitors have built in webcams (though its pretty rare these days, more a laptop feature). So presumably that + software installed.

CPS?

Watch you as in physically looking over your shoulder? Get privacy film.

So it has a camera in it? Fry it with a laser. (when they aren't monitoring you)

Surely they need some sort of software to view whats on the camera? I'd start there. If its just your parents its unlikely they are using anything high end like remote work employers do, so it would typically be easier to circumvent.

Clean it with water?
