Is this CRBN civil defense kit recommended?

Does anyone here own this set or the mask and can tell me if it's high quality for a price of €189? That's not the usual price for a CRBN mask.
Even those who don't own this set are welcome to join the discussion.

No drink tube = dehydration

Fair Point
AnitaResPrep@reddit
If it is the real CZ 6M, there is a drinking tube, but you need the attachment.
Ryan_e3p@reddit
I wouldn't take my chances, to be honest. There's nothing on the page stating even the capability of a drinking tube to be added.

Check the original factory, not the resellers: information on shops are often unclear incomplete, and even some errors. https://guzu.cz/en/full-face-gas-masks/

The brand of this linked mask is from ACE with AVEC Filters.
AnitaResPrep@reddit
Rebranded on the web site as does Mira.

Oh, thank you

This mask cost 189€

If you truly need a CRBN rated mask vs a P100, you are probably already screwed since your skin is largely unprotected.
Ryan_e3p@reddit
For radiological hazards (and many biological ones), the primary concern is getting the contamination in the body; eyes, nose, mouth (and open wounds). You can get many types of contamination on your skin and decon and be fine, but you ingest or inhale it, or get it on your mucous membranes (eyes, nasal cavity), that's where big issues come to play.
In the military, that's why we're trained to respond with mask first, then the rest of the suit afterward, and when deconning, the mask is the last thing to be taken off.
TacTurtle@reddit
At that point though, a standard P100 respirator and goggles would provide equivalent protection at a much lower cost since it is operating as a particulate filter.
Ryan_e3p@reddit
Eh... I wouldn't trust it, honestly. A full face mask would provide much better protection for the eyes. Googles may not properly seal against the face, and there is no real way to check the "seal" on goggles to make sure they do. Not just that, but full face masks are made so that when you breathe in air, it is pulled in through the filter and across the lens first before entering the nose/mouth cup, helping to avoid the lens from fogging.
Regular goggles aren't going to do that.
TacTurtle@reddit
There are full face mask respirators like the 3M 6000 series, typically cost less than half what a Mira CRBN goes for. Filters are easier to find too.
PerfectEqual3115@reddit (OP)
Thank you for the information.
Ryan_e3p@reddit
If that's what works for you, go for it. Filters being "easier to find" may vary from person to person, and may heavily be influenced by where they live. A person living near a chemical plan may find themselves more likely to have access to masks with the 40mm NATO standard threading for filter (since local industries may use it, local suppliers are more likely to carry them). Someone living in a city may only be able to get the 3M 609XXX series twist-on cartridges locally at their local hardware store.
There are other factors to weigh in as well. The shelf life of both the mask and unopened filters, as well as "breakthrough" life in a hotzone, and what your expectations are for operating in a contaminated environment. How easy it is for a single person to have to swap a filter that is no longer functioning? Are they able to open it, remove the old one, put the new one in, and properly clear the mask and confidence-check the seal? Does the mask have a valve to expel vomit without taking the mask off? How easy is the mask to maintain and get spare parts for? What chemicals can be used to decontaminate it?

What do you think is the most realistic thing that could happen in Germany?
Ryan_e3p@reddit
I'm not really in the position to opine about what could happen over there. Local & regional threats would need to be assessed, as well as political and civilian issues. I'm not entirely up to speed on that level of detail unfortunately, and not sure where to point you to in order to make educated decisions.
PerfectEqual3115@reddit (OP)
Thank you for your honest answer. Not everyone would have admitted that. Thank you anyway.
PerfectEqual3115@reddit (OP)
Good system.
PerfectEqual3115@reddit (OP)
Yes i must seatch for it.

This looks like a 18 $ mask from Amazon. Might be wrong but check out eBay, Amazon, temu for something cheaper.
meutek@reddit
Exactly. /u/PerfectEqual3115 try to get at a minimum and Avon c50 mask
AlphaDisconnect@reddit
Did you mean a roll of duct tape? Enough food and water? Duct tape vents doors and windows? Whole house CBRNE activated!
PerfectEqual3115@reddit (OP)
No, my question above only refers to the linked mask.
AlphaDisconnect@reddit
I am just questioning its purpose. When in the U. S. Military issues duct tape to the watch standers to makeshift a cbrne environment. Why buy a mask you will never use?
PerfectEqual3115@reddit (OP)
What else am I supposed to use to protect my eyes, nose, and mouth? Tape?
AlphaDisconnect@reddit
Where are you going? What are you doing? U. S. Doctrine says shelter in place in pretty much every scenario. People with masks will rescue you. And if people with masks are not there. Shelter in place. Because where are you going? Out there to clog a filter and die? Get rained on hand die?
If I had to do something. Lab chemistry goggles. Have em. 3m general purposes work mask. Have em. At least they can double duty. Easy to find replacement things.
