Air Service Australia - Trainee Air Traffic Controller

Hello,
I'm based in Melbourne, Australia.
I'm interested in becoming an air traffic controller. I'm currently in my first year of my bachelors (two years left) and found that it might not be for me. However, I still want to finish the degree then apply as a trainee air traffic controller with air service Australia.
For those that have applied, how long does the application process take to get approved? I heard that upon applying, it can take months to even enter and start the actual training program. I would like get a rough idea how long, so I know when to apply that allows me to start right after finishing my degree.
Thank you.

Probably better suited to r/atc
It takes approximately 9-12+ months from application to start date. I applied early July, received my aptitude tests in September and still haven't heard back in November.
I don't know what you're studying but if you "tough out" your degree and then you don't get a job in the field you studied, it's a waste of money (in my opinion), so consider whether it's worth finishing. Certs + diplomas these days are great qualifications to get in certain industries plus they're cheaper (or free).
