metalchode@reddit
Around midnight, or later.
YourGuyK@reddit
Between 11 and midnight on work days. Between 1 and 2 am when I have the next day off. I used to work nights, so this is an improvement on struggling to sleep before midnight at all, and staying up until 5 on weekends.
burnafter3ading@reddit
I feel you. Currently working 1800-0600 weekends and holidays as security. Having insomnia and a night job is terrible.
ILikeBumblebees@reddit
I mean, if you're going to be up all night anyway, might as well get paid for it.
burnafter3ading@reddit
I meant when you are trying to sleep during the daytime and are unable to. You just become a zombie and experience mild hallucinations and micro-sleep moments.
ILikeBumblebees@reddit
Ah, well that's where blackout shades, a powerful A/C, and some Valerian root come in handy.
burnafter3ading@reddit

Khymira@reddit
Night dispatcher with insomnia.

panteragstk@reddit
I have the same issue. I've always been a night owl, but it's a struggle to fall asleep early.
Deesmateen@reddit
I struggle going to bed before midnight
My entire day is built around work and then running my kids with my wife to their activities. From 9-10 it’s time with our two oldest. From 10-13 it’s my time with my wife and I take it even if it’s just watching a show
0zzm0s1s@reddit
During the week I used to stay up past midnight on the regular but I recently started getting tired earlier, around 11 so I tried going to bed around 11:30 instead, and it made a big difference in my ability to get to sleep earlier and my energy levels during the day. So I agree, between 11 and midnight works well.
NukeTheEwoks@reddit
Yup I'm the same. And what's worse, I have to get up at 6:30 every morning to take my kids to school.
Fortunately my kids are old enough now to get up and entertain themselves on the weekend so I get to sleep in until 9ish on the weekends.
Still not enough to ever catch up. I'm tired. Bedtime revenge procrastination is real.

This time of year i have to conserve power (off grid, few hours if daylight to make power) so i sleep early to wait out the night then lay in the dark listening to the news on public radio with an AA powered radio.

During the week I lay down about 930 because I know i'm going to be up a half dozen times during the night with our 2 young kids. On the weekends my wife and I stay up till 1am or so and just deal with being exhausted when the kids wake up for the day at 6am.

That’s what time we say we’re going to go to bed. But then it turns out to be 10-10:30.
Thliz325@reddit
We do the same. We usually make sure our kids are in bed and then we feel okay falling asleep.
I miss when they were younger and they’d fall asleep around 9, and we’d be able to watch a show or just hang out. We get like 10 minutes now and even that’s pushing it

on_fleekwoodmac@reddit
Do you mind sharing your sleep disorders?
threefeetoffun-@reddit
Not at all. Insomnia of course.
Daytime somnolence. That I think is more a symptom of Insomnia or that thing I got ADA accommodations for.
Non-24 Disorder. That is the one. It typically affects blind people because they dont have the sun to regulate them. It's a circadian disorder that puts you on a 25-26 hour or greater cycle. Go to bed at 2am one day, next is 3-4 am. Then 4-5am. Eventually it is 6-7 am or more and can't go to work at a normal time.
I go in at 11am and it still is very difficult. WFH was approved because getting ready for work and traveling to takes up an hour. If I can go to bed at 8am I could possibly work at 11am. Just give me a little nap.
on_fleekwoodmac@reddit
Thanks for sharing. I’m sorry that you struggle with these disorders, but I’m glad you have wfh accommodations. 💤

justpassingby_thanks@reddit
It depends on my mood, I love a good 915, and so does future me. If I feel anxious about what comes tomorrow the more I prolong it. 10-11 is my average, but on a bad night I'll just pull later, but it's not all bad. If I'm up past 11 with no reason I'm ironing and folding, or dishwashing, or cleaning a bathroom, etc. In the past I'd just watch a movie but now the movie is background while I clean. I'm starting to believe in the "nothing good happens after" x time so I have moved to more of a 1230 rather that 230 even when wide awake.
A couple years ago it was kids bedtime until 9, then time with wife from 9 to 11 then personal time till 2.
I realized that me giving my partner attention but not receiving any for hours year after year was killing me, so now divorced I have kids in bed at 930 latest and enjoy the 915 bedtime when I get it.

After so long of working second and third shift, the time of day means nothing to me. If a schedule doesn't dictate, I sleep when I sleep, awake when I'm awake.
FearlessFixxer@reddit
8pm is the target. I hit it 6/7 days
worksnake@reddit
You up?
harlembornnbred@reddit
1 or 2 usually
bashturd@reddit
I pop a gummy at 9, and I’m usually ready for sleep by 10-10:30. Get up at 6.

I lay down at 9, and watch a little TV. At 10 it’s TV off, glasses off, sleepy time. I’m usually totally asleep by 10:15-10:20, I fall asleep SO fast nowadays.
On the weekend(Fri-Sat night) I’ll stay up till 11-12 playing Hades 2/Brotato or watching some random anime.
lunatocracy@reddit
In bed by 9:30, asleep between 10-10:30.
oflimiteduse@reddit
I work evenings so I'm home at like 10ish. Usually stay up for around an hour and hang out with wife and watch a show or we just go into the bed and read.
Wake up at 7 or 8.
Coakis@reddit
If not forced into a schedule, I've always been a night owl. It always defaults into 12pm to 2-3am schedule. Don't see that changing anytime soon.
Steaks_Lakes_718s@reddit
Go? 10-ish.
Fall asleep? Maybe 🤷♂️
marathonrunner79@reddit
1:30 am on work nights and 4am on weekends. Night owl here.
cranialvoid@reddit
I get up at 4:15am and I’m in the office at 5am. I have been going to bed around 9pm for probably the last 15 years. Having a consistent routine has made waking up so early a lot easier. Now that I’m 47, if I stay up past 10 I will sleep late to catch up. Draw back of getting up so early is I can’t sleep late on the weekend. My body is on the same schedule no matter what day of the week it is.
paleandsarcastic@reddit
11:00 at the latest during the week…up at 6:30 to gulp down a cup of coffee before dropping off my high schooler. School is nearly two miles away and he does not have a bus. I hate it. I work from home, so I don’t have to wake up until 8:30 during summer.
Weekends, usually after midnight.
singleguy79@reddit
In bed by around 9:30, scroll through Tiktok for an hour and then go to sleep.

11-11:30. 6:30 wake up. When my kids were young I absolutely went to bed around 9:30-10pm even though their school day started later. but now they are 11&13 and go to bed around 10:30-11.

Naturally around midnight, but the wife being a night owl has pushed my rhythm towards 2am. We work from home and decide our own hours, so its not much of an issue. I just sleep until my body decides its time to get some coffee in, usually around 9am.

Between midnight and one a.m., sometimes later. I'm currently my mom's full-time caregiver, so I typically go to sleep about half an hour to an hour after she does, and she prefers to stay up late and sleep in.
