Just some screenshots of the su35 cockpit

It always looks weird seeing Soviet jets with modern cockpits. Like, I know they’re have glass cockpits with MFDs for decades, but in my head they will always be steam gauge with that stupid indecipherable RWR
FMC_Speed@reddit
I love Russian designs, they’re soulful while integrating technology, especially with that turquoise colour background, the Su-34 and KA-52 look great

This is my Soviet Gsh-6-A High Altitude Pressure Helmet from 1981 that I got at a miltary surplus store. I thought you might like this.
FMC_Speed@reddit
Wow that’s insanely cooler than the military surplus stuff I have which are a soviet tank crew night vision monocle and an American water canteen
Airplane_nerd111@reddit
Nice! What does the night vision monocle do?
FMC_Speed@reddit
It’s like a NV goggle but it’s bulky and held by hand, it has an IR emitter and optical zoom, it’s pretty cool actually and very very rugged
Airplane_nerd111@reddit
That's awesome! Can you show me a picture?
FMC_Speed@reddit
Its stored in my parents house, in my old room
But it looked like this picture but bulkier and it had a leather pouch
Airplane_nerd111@reddit
Fantastic. My helmet is also stored in my parent's house, in my old room, too. Can you still find these in military surplus stores?
FMC_Speed@reddit
I don’t know there were from Moscow when dad visited decades ago, I don’t know what’s the situation nowadays

Su35 is kinda not soviet
pythonic_dude@reddit
At which point the flanker of theseus stopped being soviet su-27m and became Russian su-35?
arahnovuk@reddit
It's Soviet/Russian. It's key parts are either Russian or were modernized after 1991
CapitanShinyPants@reddit
1991.

Where’s the aftermarket civilian GPS taped to the dash?
ccdrmarcinko@reddit
prolly in the same place where the Eagle had the scope and the A-6 the fuzzbuster
d3vmaxx@reddit
Because the Russians can’t even make decent gps/updated maps for their planes.

My 1998 Sony Ericsson phone could get clearer pictures than this.
wayfarevkng@reddit
Sony Ericsson wasn't a JV until 2001, it was still Ericsson at the time. The first camera phone didn't come out until 2001 and Sony Ericsson's T68 with the camera module add-on didn't launch until 2002.

Jeez my timing is completely off. 😂
I had a Sony Ericsson K750 that was absolutely amazing and apparently it released in 2005. Crazy to think the first iPhone released only 2 years later.
Dinyolhei@reddit
My K750i was my main mobile for 8 years, well into the smartphone era. What a tank that thing was.
En4cr@reddit
For sure! I still have mine and it still works!
FMC_Speed@reddit
I had one as my second ever phone and it’s camera was amazing
ManufacturerLost7686@reddit
I had a Sony Ericsson W960, released the same month as the iPhone. Wild difference.
FMC_Speed@reddit
I loved your phones my first (K700i) and my last non smart phones (W995) were Sony Ericsson, they were just so solid and had polished software, plus the best cameras of the time

That Soviet blue (idk what it’s called) has always looked pretty good, but i adore it with a modern cockpit. Just looks so good.

thanks for the OG vid, much easier to see

this post originally from China's Red note app,the text in the image says that the photo was taken during the airshow with the pilot’s consent.

Looks like the only thing being displayed is some sort of HSI/SA page for maping waypoints or datalink targets on the left screen (not sure on the specifics for russian aircraft but the F18 in DCS has a similar page). The second screen has what I imagine is just basic instrumentation, I recognize an artificial horizon but I dont know what the circles are, too over exposed. And the far right section is hard to tell but maybe some sort of engine systems info?
Nothing secretive or helpful. Still surprised to see it here but I dont think anything too crazy can be learned for it as far as top secret mission specs go.
