Which product from Aldi do you swear is better than the “proper brand”?

Their "Grandessa" peanut butter is 100% peanut, costs less than comparable ones and tastes as good. Recently they must've gotten a bad batch of peanuts and this tasted sour, we bought a 1kg tub twice for our weekly shopping and both times we had to return it (first tipe replaced, second time refunded). We haven't found it in store since (so they must've acknowledged something was wrong with it!), but I hope it comes back soon as it was a game changer!

Haven't tried Carlos but Sainsbury's Taste the Difference sourdough pizza (the oval shaped one) is better than Crosta and Mollica, and I say this as an Italian.

Bubbly - The Aldi aero knock off. The mint flavour is muuuuch stronger and the chocolate is way thicker. All round far superior to the modern day aero (which is a travesty).

The neoprene wellies they sell during their fishing event are the best "dark month" dog walking footwear on the planet. Forget prancing about in fashion brands like Hunter, these things are dirt cheap (less than £25), ridiculously comfortable, have great grip and last all year round. Which when you consider I probably walk 8 miles a day in them from late October until the end of March (so around 1,300 miles) is an absolute bargain.

Some years ago Aldi cleared up at the grocery magazine awards. They made a proper effort to win and came out with massive success. Their trick was to only do one of anything and do it well. So they don't sell 12 different types of chocolate cake. They sell one really good one.

Brands that make chocolate cake are generally dreadful though. Own brand, extra special, finest and so on is where the good chocolate cake is at. Not disputing that when it’s own brand vs own brand they aren’t better. I’m disputing the insistence by so many people that their fake Pringles are even a patch on actual Pringles or their fake caramel wafer is even in the same postcode as Tunnocks. People are lying to themselves.

I'm sure we've all told ourselves those lies. I reckon I've done more lying the other way round: believing a brand name is better simply because its a brand name. I know from a family blind taste test that Sainsbury's coco-pops are definitely better than Kelloggs. They taste like what Kelloggs did before they reduced the sugar to be healthy.

Nah. We are utterly unloyal and shop at most supermarkets in our town, and there are several products from Lidl and Aldi which are certainly superior to other supermarkets- without adjusting for price. Lidl bread. Aldi ZX cola; Aldi Orchard cider; Aldi tear and share chocolate brioche (which I cannot seem to find elsewhere), lots of Lidl veg, Lidl dark chocolate..

I was buying Aldi version of Frazzle crisps. Can’t remember name. They were amazing….BUT…after just a few months, my local has stopped selling them!! Gutted!! Also, they sell a wee tub of Madagascan vanilla ice cream & it’s far superior to anything from a shop, except our local ice cream shop that makes their own.

Reed diffusers. I have one called Juniper Fizz which is ace, although they don't seem to have it now. There is one that has clove and sandalwood in which sounds right up my street. The basil, lime and mandarin one is easily the equivalent of the Jo Malone version.
