In 2003, Concorde completed a week of farewell flights around the United Kingdom

I've been on the promotional trail for this petition to create a dedicated spotting facility at Birmingham Airport, and I thought "what better post to tie it in with?".
Okay, I know we're never going to see anything like Concorde, but still.

We used to live on the flight path of Concorde in Crowthorne, Berkshire. Having these rattle our windows twice a day was always a treat. When outside we'd always just stop what we were doing and look up. Good times.

Same here in northern Britanny. Subtle rattle, it was like having a secondary clock at home because Concorde was rarely departing late from CDG.

And yet with it having flown over Berkshire nearly every day off its career, they didn’t give us one final fly over.

Was this a passenger airplane? It’s beautiful.

Supersonic passenger plane. Loud as fuck and expensive to run, that's why it was retired.

Thank you!

I skipped school and drove to Heathrow to see all 3 land. Photographed them all rather crudely. Everywhere was full of people and lots of emotional nerds like myself.
Good luck in your campaign!

That was the most beautiful plane...

I was stood with my girlfriend (now wife) at the end of LCY runway where I lived in a nearby flat after just graduating University and moving to the City for my first job.
Watching the three Concords turn above us before the final approach into Heathrow was quite something
