People who've had fungal gnats in the garden how do you stop them?

I've had fungal gnata for years and tries all sorts so I'm positive they are coming from my garden. Obviously I can't dry it out as it's Britain, rains half the summer. Any solutions?

100% relevant, if you had it last year and it hasn't gone over the summer, then it's something else triggering it. damaged piping maybe?

For fungus gnats outdoors, the best option is nematodes. Do you have any indoor plants? Are you sure they aren't drain flies if they're inside?

No indoor plants no, I've poured boiling water and bicarbonate soda + vinegar down all the drains multiple times. I'm just assuming fungal gnats as it's what Google lens said haha.
