My first car was an ‘88 Town Car. Over the course of my ownership of it I had to replace a window switch and a window motor clutch.

..... You know I once had a truck about that age with power window problems... Only one motor was bad. The other ones had disintegrated plastic parts needing replacement.
When someone says none of their windows are working, my first thought would not be that all 4 motors died at the same time..

Exactly that’s what I’m thinking! From my limited experience these old ford window motors and regulators rarely fail and usually it’s just the motor gear torque pins that disintegrate in the motors because they are nylon plastic.

Before you go and buy those expensive parts, what do your windows do when you press the switch? Do they make any noise like a motor? If so you don’t need new window regulators you need new motor gear torque pins.
