Odd given how much Mrap and armoured Vachels Pakistan products
Flashy-Agency-9324@reddit
We have the same issue in Iran in Balochistan I assume what these are for is patrols in non combat zones even if attacks take place which rules out un armored vehicles but heavy vehicles would cause political issues and social issues.
Illustrious-Sky-4631@reddit
With Iran you could excuse it with the cost of operation , the huge area it needs to cover and lack of support from outside markets towards the industry due to the US
Flashy-Agency-9324@reddit
Honestly not really we have a very large inventory of MRAPS and APCs much less just regular armoured cars.

Those are some mighty nice lookin luxes 😘

To be fair, that last image shows shrapnel scorching on the upper sheet metal. Potentially protecting from head injuries… or if standing, torso injuries.
Although in the same breath, it does look like it penetrated the tub, if it’s not up armoured… that’s torso wounds for anyone sitting down and sore legs for those standing.

It's armed but an RPG will go through it.. and there were casualties.
Dramatic-Resident-64@reddit
I think that’s a completely unfair assessment… If you’re getting in an actual MRAP expecting protection from a side impact RPG you’re a lunatic…
Seygem@reddit
an rpg will also go through a semi modern apc, so that's not really an argument

Better then nothing I suppose

Just armoured hiluxs bro. They need to mass produce and mass induct Hisaar..
type-59g-durjoy@reddit
The thing is the armoured Hilux is cheap and consumes less fuel and parts are easier to get, and they are numerous, a MRAP isn't a 1:1 replacement for a cheap simple armoured pickup, however it would be better, crew and infantry would be significantly better protected
thoku63@reddit (OP)
You are right being a developing country we can't really afford to equip or replace every shit can Hilux but it's frankly sad that we lose young men to IEDs ambushes. Over 80% of our casualties are caused by ieds.
Ronald-Reagan-1991@reddit
You can thank the Talitubbies for that. It’s bizarre that basically a IED homemade from TEMU-made Wiring and a Ancient bomb can destroy a entire army
