Brand “new” condition.
DesertHawk677@reddit
Optics Planet sold it to me in a plastic bag with nothing else, said excellent condition what a joke lol
Apprehensive-Set-502@reddit (OP)
Same exact fracture
Apprehensive-Set-502@reddit (OP)
Yeooooo they must of sold you mine.
DesertHawk677@reddit
Yooo you got my screws they sent it in a plastic bag said it was used excellent condition
caterham09@reddit
Crazy. They must have abused the shit out of that package to damage the box that badly
ZeroPointSpecter@reddit
Probably dropped a much heavier box on top of it.
Apprehensive-Set-502@reddit (OP)
First Trijicon , decided to treat myself lol. Guess they didn’t want me to enjoy it.
fanht1234@reddit
this seems more like a problem with USPS lol mind sharing how the shipping box looked like? I doubt opticsplanet sent it to you in that condition, shattered / broken trijicon case and all
Apprehensive-Set-502@reddit (OP)
The crazy thing is it wasn’t even packed in a shipping box just a plastic envelope lol.
Palehorse67@reddit
They probably figured, who is gunna smash a pelican case lol. That answer is...the USPS.
Relative-Ordinary-64@reddit
I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again…screw optics planet and cheaperthandirt
Broke_Bak_Jak@reddit
I agree wholeheartedly with cheaperthandirt. What’s the problem with optics planet though? Aside from their atrocious backorder practices, of course.
Leroy1864@reddit
Some people have had problems with packages showing up I think, but I’ve never had issues
BBQSauce61@reddit
Woah I forgot cheaperthandirt existed... I figured they went out of business after their name should have been changed to slightlycheaperthanenricheduranium...
Independent-Remove26@reddit
That’s actually impressive they were able to break it
Western-Pipe409@reddit
Good luck I’ve been calling for three days about a scope I got that was cracked
AlphaTangoFoxtrt@reddit
Email them the following:
Watch how quickly they get back to you when you mention the words chargeback. If they don't you can show you tried to resolve the issue amicably but were unable to, and a chargeback is warranted.
MONSTERBEARMAN@reddit
Maybe, maybe not. Ordered a Surefire light from them. Signature was required for delivery. I was literally thousands of miles from home in Hawaii when they dropped it off at my door without a signature. It got stolen by porch pirates. Optics planet basically said 🤷🏼♂️. I tried reversing the charge on my credit card but I assume after talking to optics planet and getting sine bullshit version from them, Visa wouldn’t refund my money either. I was out over $500.
AlphaTangoFoxtrt@reddit
Without knowing all the specifics, I can't comment much.
But "Signature required" doesn't mean YOU have to sign for it. It means someone has to sign for it.
If no one signed for it, then you need to request proof of signature delivery, and if you don't have it you need to tell your CC that. You paid for signature delivery, they delivered without a signature, that's failure to perform services as ordered, and since it resulted in your item being stolen the loss is on the carrier.
Sadly unless you have video proof, USPS, or any carrier really, can just fudge a signature and it'll be considered valid.
Any high value items I have shipped to a UPS store, or held at the carrier facility for pickup. You need an ID to pick them up. A little inconvenient yes, but preferable to having it stolen.
corgusbutticus88@reddit
Sucks, but most likely (hopefully) trijicon had it insured and sends a new one
WatercressStreet2084@reddit
Doesn’t really matter - can always do a credit card chargeback - but I’m sure optics planet will exchange without issue
MONSTERBEARMAN@reddit
Ordered a Surefire light from them. Signature was required for delivery. I was literally thousands of miles from home in Hawaii when they dropped it off at my door without a signature. It got stolen by porch pirates. Optics planet basically said 🤷🏼♂️”sorry, too bad for you.” I tried reversing the charge on my credit card but I assume after talking to optics planet, they wouldn’t do it. I was out over $500.
AlphaTangoFoxtrt@reddit
Doesn't matter if it was insured. Shipping damages are the responsibility of whomever actually paid the carrier. For 99% of all consumer purchases, that is the seller.
How it works:
No contract exists between A and C. C is not liable to A for any reason. If C fucks up, A goes after B, B goes after C.
Never pay for shipping insurance, it does not protect you. You are already protected.
corgusbutticus88@reddit
The is the most AI post I've seen today. Step away from the LLM.
AlphaTangoFoxtrt@reddit
It's not AI at all bubz, sorry I tried to help people not get scammed into paying for insurance which doesn't protect them.
North_Phrase4848@reddit
Ah, yes. Per usual from the over-priced people at OP and lazy-assed USPS federal employees. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.
GullibleRisk2837@reddit
SRO good to go?
C4Vendetta76@reddit
Yeah i got an sro about a month ago...thatsm's bot what you want there
bloodtoots@reddit
Brand new would have foam in the box. Like my NIB SRO had an obtuse amount of foam in the case.
Or is this a used like new optic that someone yanked the foam out for some reason? On the bright side I guess, it's only $90 to replace the glass
AlphaTangoFoxtrt@reddit
Fuck that, they're sending me a brand new one.
If they let me keep the damage one I'll send it in for repairs.
ZeroPointSpecter@reddit
I see you got the SR-Uh-Oh model.
CapnCurt81@reddit
Like...Postal Service as in USPS? Please don't tell me OP out here still shipping things USPS.
LegendActual@reddit
Usually DHL when I use them, which is even slower with worse tracking.
MastuhWaffles@reddit
Wait does the optic not come in an insert foam? Like custom cut for the optic?
Apprehensive-Set-502@reddit (OP)
I’m not sure first trijicon I ever ordered. I know the packaging they use is big for a small optic. Every other optic I own does have custom cut foam for it
glockguy34@reddit
trijicons dont have custom cut foam, but there is plenty of foam to protect the optic. it looks like you got a return instead of brand new. this is one of the reasons many people say stay away from optics planet. its just like amazon but with worse shipping times.
hitemlow@reddit
Makes me wonder if it was a customer return or something and the foam got lost.
I recently had to exchange a gas block and the second one was in a baggie and lightly covered in oil, but the original wasn't.
Broke_Bak_Jak@reddit
Has trijicon stopped foam lining their cases? Every optic I’ve ever gotten from them was nicely swaddled inside the case.
steve0suprem0@reddit
you can see foam in the third pic.
Broke_Bak_Jak@reddit
You’re correct. Guess I kind of zeroed in on the second pic.
KccOStL33@reddit
People actually still spend money with Optics Planet?
Ke_Ke_Snake@reddit
Wow. That look terrible. I’m sorry that happened to you bro!
Apprehensive-Set-502@reddit (OP)
Just another day of life man! Hopefully it gets resolved. Was boutta be a Christmas Day today turned out to be a regular week lol
WestSide75@reddit
Looks like it was delivered by airline baggage handlers
