What location to log for simulator?

When logging simulator time, what do you put in the location column? I’ve heard somewhere that you just put the airport the simulator is located, and others have told me it’s the location of the simulated flight. But what if the simulator isn’t on an airport?

So what would you do if the sim was not at an airport?

When the FAA certificates them, do they get their own number? I’d use that.
PILOT9000@reddit
They do.

Yeah I’d be listing that. Maybe where as the address or building. But that number is a pretty good where.

61.51(b)(1)(iii) and (iv) cover how to identify these things when logging sim time.

Sounds good Ty. Haven’t logged any yet personally.

you log the name of the training center the simulator is located in and its registration number. all of the certified simulators in the U.S. have a FAA identifier number.

Does it really matter?
